I'm vicariously enjoying your travel... LOVE any history museums, even the small town and small county ones around the US, the Western US has one in just about every burg! great pioneer museum in San Diego Old Towne, Railroad Museum in Sacramento, even in small Tehachapi CA there is a wonderful little pioneer museum! not to mention old cemeteries... but those are best in the East

I visited England for the summer of 1969. I was 13 and stayed with my Grandfather. The biggest event was the Apollo Mission landing on the moon. It was a big deal for Americans and really not interesting for the Birits. Your post reminded me of the great places I visited. Looking forward to reading more. My dream is to go back and spend a long-g-g-g time there touring. Till then, I will enjoy it vicariously through your trip.

The trip sounds utterly divine! My daughter, the 8th grade science teacher, went to England a Scotland a few years ago on an educational exchange trip. She came home saying "Mind the Gap" as well....with a few funny stories about "bangers and eggs" and driving on the "roundabouts". She had a hoot as well. I'm so happy you took the trip. The Thames River cruise is what I think I envy most, as well as the old, old architecture. You're absolutely correct---we just don't make those kinds of buildings anymore. What a shame. As for pictures I will guess you to 1737.

What a great trip. I know you had a great time. How wise to disconnect from social media and just enjoy your trip. I know we will enjoy what ever you choose to share with us. Thanks for all you do.
