It a guy is paid thst kind of money and dosent HAVE the courtesy to show up and be a team player ,send him down the road and give a new draft pic a chsnce eho appreciates it,screw him,he really hasnt done that great, let him go somwhere else and fail,he dosent deserve tp be a Steeler

He been a great team member and a better RB , so pay a man that's in his since a RB Career is shorter than positions he needs it now if you you were great at your job but could only do it you would want your die so back off Bell n pay him if SUPER BOWL is what your after

Y’all mad ‘cuz he knows his worth??? That’s stupid of most of u fans. Do u think Todd Gurley is worth more? Are u mad at Any of the other holdouts which I mainly hear “Go get your money” from the media on them. This is the second year, and u know what they do to running backs! Especially work horses like bell... And as much as I love my Steelers, they will use a person up and forget about quick (Willie Parker, Santonio Holmes to name a couple who I expected to see and were just gone rather abruptly). U know he wants to be paid since he’s more than half the offense the entire game. I’m a lil upset with Steeler Nation on how u guys are responding to this. Regardless off his off the field issues, he shows up on Sunday and balls! Think of what else he might do if u paid him and he was in camp! That would seem more scary to me...

Greedy often injured dope smoking idiot! Cut him loose he's cancer.

If you are such a great player act like it. Show up to camp show your TEAM and your fans that you care about them not just the money. Yeah you're a great player but you fail to remember how many FULL season you have actually played. I say tjink about something besides yourself and play ball.Show us you really want to be here.

  • paul - 6 years ago

Man come to camp an work with your team !!!!! SHOW OUT GET THAT 7 MAN !!!!!!! THEY WILL PAY YOU,SHIT YOU GOT TO PLAY.

  • Adam - 6 years ago

You're all just mad he didn't sign. I would be to but that doesn't make him the P.O.S. everyone is claiming him to be. The man values himself and he should,as every man should. Bell isn't just any running back either, granted he has multiple 400 touch seasons, he is also the fastest player to amass 7000+ scrimmage yards, passing Eric Dickerson(who doesnt have a ring) for first. The guy has 3 pro bowls,2x 1st team all pro and a 2nd team all pro..matter of fact I hope the Steelers do rescind the tag and he goes and continues to ball out because Bell is a generational player who has already broken records set by guys like LT and Dickerson. Good luck Bell....

Get rid of him he has nevsr been dependable, hurt 4 of 5 seasons, no Superbowls

  • Charlie - 6 years ago

Yes get rid of Bell... Ben won 2 super bowls without him... Look at Blount he left the Steelers because he was playing back up to Bell and went to patriots and won 2 super bowls and then to the eagles and won another super bowl. .. 3 super bowls for Blount and zero for Bell... Bell dances around to much in the backfield... 322 carries and Bell longest run last year was 29 yards, SAD. .. Give another running back that many carries and they would of lease broke a few long runs for touchdowns

I have been a Steelier since birth! My dad was a big fan and the Steelers won the Super Bowl the year I was born 43years ago. While I would love to see Bell act like a Man and show up for camp/preseason,franchise tag or not.Just to prove he is a STEELIER.He hasn't proved that has a team player at all as far as I am concerned. His a great back but there's college players watching his game and copying his style. The younger guys will use that and make their own style that will make Bell look average at best.Jaylen Samuels comes to mind and his already in Pittsburgh.Show up for camp and work for your money.Prove that you want a Championship!!I hate to say this swell cause I like Tomlin but he needs to tighten up the leash a few links and show that he is in charge of his team.He gotta do way better at game management.I've seen so many games over the years we should've won.Games that Ben made otherworldly plays to get the team in position to win only to run out of time or coach sends some crazy play call in that was drawn up in the dirt before the game.I have seen some of those plays work but its a risk.We shouldn't be in that position to start with.Knoll aand Cohwer would get a lead and then grind out the win.Yes those games got boring but a win is a win.I really hope Bell can step out of his ego and quit listening to his agent. Then maybe he can prove he belongs in Pittsburgh and can retire there. If he don't then I say keep to the deal in place for this season and develop the other running backs this season with Bell being the subject they study. Then hopefully one of those guys can step in Bells place without much change in the playbook. So if I could say it to Bell myself I tell him to get off his ass and stop looking in the mirror while listening to people telling him how great he is and go to your damn team and prove it to them how great you are!! You say you gotta look out for family,so what kinda legacy do you want? One of a great player that had the right team and the loyalty to his brothers on the field. So they would play together and the TEAM wins the Superbowl!!!! OR The one of a great player that didn't care for his brothers on the field as much as he cared for the money he would make by holding out on them. Then goes to a team willing to pay him what ever he wants only to be in another scheme and an unfamiliar kb handing you the ball only to get tackled in the backfield for a loss because the o-line isn't nearly the quality you worked with before. So you become a mediocre back and retire early before being cut.So what's the legacy you want your grandkids to brag about??

  • Steve - 6 years ago

Either traded him right before season or ride him so his wheels fall off

  • John - 6 years ago

    Trade him for disgruntled Julio.

  • John - 6 years ago

Please get rid of the poison!!!!
Get someone who 'truly' wants to bleed Black and Gold !!!

  • Jon Tanner - 6 years ago

Yes we need to do whatever it takes he is the best back in football

  • John - 6 years ago

Trade him to the jets.. Or it really dosent matter where u trade him. He needs to realize he wouldnt be half the player he is without that offensive line.. And the other All Pros on offense. Bye!!!

  • Bert - 6 years ago

Need to part ways Bell is a cancer destroying this team, trade him for a high draft pick and move on. Look at his performance in the playoffs nothing special to brag about nothing worth 14.5 million
Would rather see the money spent on Blue Chip player like Ramone Foster

  • Ryan - 6 years ago

Trade Bell of you can for assets, if not you gotta ride out this year. On the Tomlin hate about being a cheerleader, Harrison said both Tomlin and Cowher weren't disciplinarians. So now weve had 2 "terrible coaches" since Noll?? No coach is perfect, and we mostly agree Belichick cheats. So who is the standard for great coaching right now? McCarthy (Packers fans hate him), Carroll (huge disciplinarian, yeah right), John Harbaugh (3 straight years of no playoffs, even with the "genius" ozzie newsome), Dan Quinn in Atlanta ( he blew a huge lead in the Super Bowl and Falcons didnt look great last year). I am fully aware that Bell, Brown, Ben and probably Harrison got special treatment AND Porter Haley and Lake all got passes for substandard results from their position groups BUT Tomlin is a top 5 coach. With that said if we can get a true starting ilb and a decent backup tackle or dlineman for Bell I'd ship him in a second.

  • Rick kole sr - 6 years ago

Trade him and look to our future Bell should quickly become our history!!!

  • Samuel Campbell - 6 years ago

Let him walk, let's look at the stats, running backs over the age of 29 have poor performance. Bell will be 28 this season. Also add the facts, he has already had ACL surgery, not to mention, he is just one missed pass test, or 1 blunt away from at least a one year suspension.

Let him walk. It's never going to get better. Tired of people saying he needs to take care of himself and his family. C'mon 70 mil contract for five years! At the least I'm sure he pockets 35 mil of that. Who couldn't have a great life with that much money and still leave enough for generations to come. If he found the cure for a terminal illness I would say pay him, but this is just entertainment.

  • Jon Lape - 6 years ago

    Bye Felicia

  • Mark - 6 years ago

If Bell would of signed and he would of made over 30 mil. It is my opinion that almost anyine would be able to take care of their families for the rest of our lives. Remembering that he is would be making 35% more than the second highest paid RB in the league!!! Shoot I would love to make 35% more than my co workers. Mark.

  • Josh - 6 years ago

At this point I don't care what they do with Bell. He's an asset to the team but he'll walk next year to get paid an extra 1 million a year than what the steelers offered him. Tomlin is the problem. The team needs a coach, someone who can put a player in his place when he screws up, not a friend, because that's what tomlin is to that team is a friend. It hurts me to say this cuz I love the steelers, but steeler nation better get ready cuz as long as tomlin is there the same thing will keep happening and that thing is making the playoffs and constantly getting outclassed when its all on the line. James Harrison said it, Ben thinks the same thing that James said, Terry Bradshaw knows it. Its the little things with this team. End of game, no time outs, Ben throws it to get them in field goal range, receiver catches it....it was a 25 yard gain. So while bens running up to spike it the recivers still celebrating that he caught a pass. Its all the little stuff like that. Tomlins suppose to be a coach....not a friend.

  • Jeffery Clark - 6 years ago

Why such hate for Bell that Steelers had ample opportunity to sign him to long term deal. This year's offer with only 10 mol guaranteed is less than the tag. If you were in the job market and felt you knew your worth would you take less
Bell has to look out for himself after all it is a business

  • John coleman - 6 years ago

I don't think he had proved himself he's only completed 1 full season out of 4 he was suspended twice and when we needed him most hurt against New England he had no loyalty to the organization cut him lose now

  • Scott - 6 years ago

Maybe a sign and trade would be a better option than just letting him walk away without getting any compensation in return. I am sure there would be teams interested in trading for him.

  • Zach - 6 years ago

I love his running style and his catching ability but I think it's time to let him go. He only cares about himself and every year he demands more money. He tests the teams tolerance all the time and if he was on a old steelers team he would have been gone already. Time for the committee approach with powerback Conner and Swiss army knife Samuels being the main guys. It's been working for years with the much hated Patriots and worked great with the Eagles last year.

  • Edward - 6 years ago

To those that are saying pay the man, that's just what the Steelers tried to do. Bell is either pigheaded or he has a terrible agent. Bell may sit out the first half of the season. Even if he comes to camp we don't know if he's going to play when the regular season starts. I say dump him and move on.

  • Steven Zettlemoyer - 6 years ago

I have been a Steelers fan for almost 50 years and the organization needs to send Bell packing along with Tomlin. Bell is all about Bell and his actions have proven that plus Tomlin is a lousy coach at best. He lacks in his inability to discipline players when they overtly break the rules. He wants to be there friend rather then the disciplinarian. The Steelers have become soft because of this. Tomlin needs to change or it's going to be another long year. Good luck Bell trying to get $15 million from any team as your greed will ruin you.

PAY THE MAN LOOK AT WHAT EVERY TEAM MADE LAST YEAR FAIR EXCHANGE NO ROBBERY ????

  • RICKY TRIPLETT - 6 years ago

Keep being the classy organization and keep your word. They tagged him for the year so pay him when he signs and reports. Class is what sets the Steelers apart from other sports organizations. Deal with him leaving at the appropriate time. The end of this year. HERE WE GO! Se Acabo!

  • Frederick Lawrence - 6 years ago

Team player?? Centered around one individual ego & his agent.

  • Kevin Ladson - 6 years ago

They should let him go right now all he cares about is himself not the team what they buffered him was pretty decent they have some good backs behind with their passing game i could run behind that line he is not worth the distraction!!

  • David L - 6 years ago

    Bye

  • Tom Duda - 6 years ago

Yes. Release him, he's not worth the drama that instills the Steelers traditions past.Like the Bus said he I'll realize his mistake within a new organization. Bradshaw was right about Tomlin being a cheerleader. He basically has no discipline or not much control over his players regardless of his winning percentage. Let them both walk.Time for someone to come in and set the Steelers standard. Go BLACK N GOLD. Tom in Tampa

  • Bruce - 6 years ago

    The fans have spoken. ????

  • Tim - 6 years ago

Send him down the road now! He cares nothing about team and winning. Sellfish drama queen who would be a below average running back without that great offensive line blocking for him

  • Chris Wood - 6 years ago

They should trade him so they get something for him!

  • Frank parrish - 6 years ago

If mr bell win t sign for fifteen millin let him leave now don t pay him fourteen and a half millin to play this year when he doesn t have to go to training camp or show up until game nine or tenthis is a team

  • Roy Tryon - 6 years ago

    Good Riddens!!!

  • Adam Thomas - 6 years ago

We have players that want to win a championship those are ones we need to concentrate on. I had old sweet and fine girl friends there mind was somewhere esle trying to hang on kept me from my gold. More power to them!!! Steelers y'all showed levon much love we have to let him go!!!

  • Mike - 6 years ago

Absolutely! They need a new message. Team first. Nothing personal to any of you, but team first. Let hi go NOW! Let's see if anyone has enough cap space, this late in the day, to give Bell anything close to what the Steelers have structured themselves to give him.

  • Steve - 6 years ago

Let him go after the season
