SkyTrain to Langley/Willowbrook mall and later to Abbotsford makes WAY more sense! Alleviates WAY more traffic! Why the heck do we need rail line to Newton? There is plenty of B-line buses going along that short route. Whichgraphic group of constituents is the government trying to please for votes? Because if they cared about carbon footprint reduction they would expand SkyTrain eastward. Just look at rush hour along Fraser hwy or the #1hwy. Also a byproduct of reducing traffic along those major arteries allows for more goods/commerce/MONEY flowing in and out the region more rapidly at a higher volume which boosts our economy.

This entire scheme is a forced taxpayer-funded subsidy for both the construction industry and suburban commuters. Return the (our!) money as a TAX CUT.

I generally approve of the overall plan except the extra gas tax. The price increases from original estimates are excessive and warrant a detailed review.

    Maybe.
    Yes to Broadway line.
No to Surrey LRT on King George and to Guilford
Yes to Surrey Skytrain on King George and Guilford
Yes to Surrey LRT to Langley
Use the right tool for the job.
LRT is a bad fit for King George in terms of handling future density and number of intersections.

A line from Victoria to Arbutus is a waste of time and money.
Extending the line from Bridgeport to Ladner would solve many problems especialy with a new bridge across the South arm of the Fraser which is badly needed.

Skytrain for Surrey to Langley not lite rail.
The lite rail will just congest the streets more.
And there is nothing for the North Shore which has even worse traffic than Surrey.
