If a Person was elected on a Liberal Platform by Liberal Oriented People He or She MUST represent them in the Parliament on that Platform and NOT on any other Platform and vice versa. They must respect the majority wish in the Constituency and Not the wish of the minority. If they want to do so they must face the People and get reelected. If this simple democratic value sf not respected there is no value for a democratic elections and self determination of the elected person is valued.

Well, Mr.Row, very well put. That was my first thought. I’m glad that , freedom of choice is still there, I’m sure there is a bit of awkwardness on both sides. I’m hoping that in this case it was for the right reasons.
I’m also hoping this doesn’t become a methology to get voted in and then suddenly fly a new party flag. What a mess that would become.
    Pretty loud statement, she made,
    That’s for sure.

Nothing wrong with Political floor crossing, it all depend on the current circumstances. When it happens their should be a by-election held to allow constituents a voice. First the member should hold a public meeting with her constituents to see how decide. If their is reasonable opposition to the members floor crossing a by-election should be held, but if a general election is withing a year then no by-election it would be a total waste of money. The case of the Liberal member crossing the floor I personally totally respect her decision sometime parties act like dictatorships and members sometimes need to express and bring attention to the situation. Liberals arrogance and actions clearly have not been supporting western Canadians much these days. You'd be hard pressed to find any Liberals in Alberta now. I mean when was the last time you heard from the Provincial Liberals it's a dead party
