would need to be a new place. the Y will 100% one day be their #1 selling car. that is the style car Americans love these days. big but not too big. the 3 will be their #2 car. so doenst make sense to put your number 1 and 2 car all crammed into one place. make a new place for the #1 and # 2 and have smaller operations like the trucks and roadsters fill in the empty corners of those factories.

Currently, Gigafactory 1 is supposed to be only 30% of the final size, which leaves room to produce Model Y.
They stated it would be built in China today.
