Both are better than one as in certain situations such as your iPhone laying on the desk Face ID doesn’t work

What notch? I don’t notice it any longer.

FaceID is both a convenience and a security mechanism. Any additional biometric authentication should be additive. Keep FaceID and the notch for secure transactions (like payments and password entry), add In-Display touch for device unlock.

The constant insistence that the notch is “bad” is emphasizing the wrong thing. The notch enables highly secure authentication. It doesn’t interfere with apps or the content of a page. We spent a decade with giant bezels and nobody felt apps were being invaded by the hardware. Just because Android OEMs don’t care about secure or improved biometrics doesn’t mean Apple should stop.
