Federal Minimum wage should always be lower than each State Minimum Wage. Every state's cost of living and industries are different. Minimum wage jobs are not meant to be living wage jobs. Federal government should work with states to make job training more affordable and available so people can get better paying jobs.

The way I “personally “ was taught,, your pay is based on Merit. Who and what you are determines your worth as an employee, Again the government has nothing to do with your Americans right to succeed in business!

Minimum wage is not to be considered as a living wage. Minimum wage is for those high schoolers getting their first jobs. If you’re 30 and still making minimum wage , there’s one of two problems. Either you’re not worth it and need to increase your own skills, or your boss isn’t with it and you need to leave and find a better job. Flipping burgers doesn’t constitute $15 an hour. Your $5 Big Mac meal will jump to $10 if that stupid deal is reached!!

$8 should be minimum, some jobs, that would be plenty.
Additionally - it would not help 32 M, as half of those would be fired, as most businesses just can’t afford it!
