Yes! I agree with Caitlin, "Yes we can" phrase has been a part of my daily mantra. If we think we can, we can. Nobody is perfect and the system is not perfect, therefore I don't expect Obama to be perfect either. At least, I'm very happy with the way he performs.
He's the sugar that will help the medecine go down. I call him "Big Brother" Obama. What can we expect of a guy that has his little girl's hair permed.

Congratulation President Obama. You wanted the job and you got it : it is a great exemple of what that can be achieved through truth , trust and passion. I believed your are the right guy, at the right place ,at the right time when great changes are occuring in the evolution of humanity. However You should be seen as an inspiring leader rather more than a new messia. I suggest you to focus more on educating rather more on fighting. When the ignorance of people disappears which led to exploitation and so poverty, those that have a dark agenda wont find anyone anymore to play their game and will wanish. In accepting our differences, in supporting each other and believing there is enough for everyone on that planet, we will free us from tyranny. In awakening our personal power that has been denied in the past by the authorities, we will transform the follower we were in a co creator of service to the community. Awake people of the world ,for it is time to ask :WHAT DO I WANT TO DO IN MY LIFE THAT SET MY HEART IN FIRE? So Americans, you have the leader you deserve .Act with him to work at a world of aboundance, prosperity, joy, fun and peace, as from Australia I align myself to that vision of a new world. Obama's election, his words and his very first acts as a President gave us so much hope for a better future. The US President is the President of the most powerful nation and it affects the whole world, as we painfully have been - and are - experiencing.
We wish him all the best and that he will succed in bringing up the best spirit of the American Nation, the spirit that we love and that we found in our friends there (and not only there!).
In our little corner of the world we try to live according to the same principles he brought up in his speech, and this is giving us hope and strength to rise our heads and walk proudly on the path we choose. Now we feel and know that we are no longer alone and that a powerful and important President walks with us, on our side!
I wanted Obama to seize the moment to galvanise the world's attention onto saving us from climate catastrophe.
I wanted him to set the goal of reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide below 350 parts per million (see http://350.org), which is necessary to restore a safe climate but will require urgent, radical and global changes to our energy systems and economies.
Ken Ward, former Deputy Executive Director of Greenpeace USA, puts this most compellingly in an open letter to President Obama on how to make the climate challenge real and urgent to Americans: http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2009/1/19/135710/112

I am a proud Jamaican who has never had any desire to be an American. For the first time I felt I could be proud to be one. His speech was an exceptional example of what a true leader's speech should capture. He started by painting a picture of the harsh reality of where America is today. He reached into history to identify the the core values and vision of the founding fathers, and connected with them. He pointed to the pros and cons of where we are today and reinforced the fact together "we" can make America great again. I am proud to be a black woman and to be alive to see a great black man take the world stage for such a time as this.

This was simply the most inspiring political speech I've ever heard. It was full of hope and courage for all of us. Some TV pundits felt it was a little too sombre - but coming at the end of the worst Presidency in living memory, and in the toughest times I've ever seen in my 58 years - how could it be otherwise?
My heart goes out to all Americans - who can hold their heads high once again.
The American people have placed their trust in a young first generation American, with family roots in Kenya.President Obama must now win the confidence of opressed people of the world so that they can once again trust the great nation of United States as the defender of Democratic principles, human rights and above all dealing justly and fairly with people of the world. The President's speech ushered in a new dawn full of hope and as his election to the Office of the Presidency is inself a miracle,it is the hope of many throuhout the world that with the help of God he will be able to change the course of world events and make this planet a better place for all.

I would have liked him to say something about Palestina. What happens with Israel now. Will they be allowed to go back home like this? They can invade another country, kill hundreds of civilians, use forbidden weapons, attack the UN and nobody will tell them anything?
Un embrasse, Monsieur le President! Vous etez notre esperance.

I somehow wanted him to use his catch phrase "Yes, we can" again, at least once, especially since he was talking about the challenges ahead. But overall, it was very intelligent, very stately. He's definitely a leader!
