Have you changed your mind and decided to support LNG in Fall River, which Weaver's Cove spokesman James Grasso claims many Fall Riverites have done?

After reviewing the information presented, I have to agree with Mr. Carvalho's assessment, as it has been verified by the United States Census Bureau.

Hey, you lying Bozo ...there's NO COMPARISON!!!

Freeport LNG is located on Quintana Island, six miles from deep water, surrounded by water and directly across from a huge Dow Chemical facility.

It is NOT IN A URBAN NEIGHBORHOOD!

Quintana Island has a total population, last census, of 48. Quintana has no police force, no fire department, no schools, no libraries, no gas stations, no churches.

Freeport LNG only employs approximately 40 people.

Next time, Mr. Knows Nothing LNG promoter, do your homework before commenting on a project that you obviously know nothing about.

There is a LNG plant recently built in Freeport, Texas. Freeport is a busy port west of Galveston Bay. It is next to 2 waterfront parks. It is a safe, modern facility, and has been a boost to the economy. No problems. It is not the monster people seem to think. It withstood Catagory 3 Hurricane Ike last summer with no problem.

Dear "Another perspective..." or should I say Weaver's Cove employee?

Since you feel Fall River is such a horrid place filled with "crime, violence, economic depression, poor air quality and a host of other problems" ...why would you want to site your marvelously beneficial ...and safe ...LNG import/export regasification facility here?

Since it will be so wonderful, I'm amazed other, more upscale communities aren' beating a path to your door hoping you'll build one in their community.

How about trendy Newport? Don't they want LNG? They're right on the ocean. I wonder why they don't want the never ending economic benefits ...and cheap gas too?

Thought so, you can't name one city or town that would welcome such a noisome facility ...can you? Shame on you attempting to snooker Fall River.

By the way, we have a beautiful waterfront right on the Wild and Scenic Taunton River. How do you like that?

The surest way to stop future economic development on our waterfront is to build a humongous gas tank there, serviced by 1,000 foot long supertankers!

It ain't gonna happen. Save your employer some cash ...cut your losses. Leave town.

Dear "An educated Fall River voter,"
I hate to break it to you, but the city of Fall River has been economically depressed for decades, is not particularly safe, and does not have an attractive waterfront. The city should welcome all opportunities for well planned economic development and business ventures and should not reject substantial tax revenues that can used to spur economic development that the city needs as a result of an overblown assessment of potential costs and an unwillingness to acknowledge the full scope of benefits. Crime, violence, economic depression, poor air quality and a host of other problems pose far greater risk to the health and well-being of the people of Fall River than an LNG facility does. Further, unfounded opposition to projects like this have the potential to do far greater damage to the city over the long-term as it creates an anti-business and anti-development culture that the city can ill afford to promote.

Too many good people in both the private and public sectors have fought to keep our City safe for our future generations, never mind the eye-sore this would be on our waterfront! I find it appalling that our elected officials think they can take matters into their own hands, independent of the rest of the Council, with an entity that the City of Fall River is currently in litigation with!
Grasso has been trying to "Back Door" this project long enough!

Word to Jim Grasso: Leo Pelletier is 99% sure that this tank is going to be coming to Fall River, right? Well, I can go him one better. 100% that that tank will NEVER be constructed at Weaver's Cove. or anywhere else on the banks of the Taunton River. And that, dear Leo, you CAN take to the bank.
    THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT, MAN!
