• Ben is "reborn" on the Island as a function of Sayid shooting him, and so all traces of Young Ben vanish afterwards.

• The past as Adult Ben remembers it no longer exists after Sayid shoots Young Ben

• Sterling Beaumon and Michael Emerson are playing two different characters
