The International Black Women's Film Festival presents such awards as the Tressie Souders Award (“Tressies”). The Tressies celebrate the accomplishments of Black women in film, television and media. This web award rewards those women who use their craft to help combat negative stereotyping of Black women around the world. Unlike most awards, the Tressies are judged by the general public and an invited jury of peers.
