Yeah if that many people liked Babs she would still have her legs.

Keep Barb in a wheelchair, but make her Batgirl! The fact that she's still in the chair would be the biggest throw-off, but the suit could be new technology that allows her to walk again - but only in the suit. It would also be a great weakness to exploit.
