Why there is no possibility to see full view of any application for android with pictures and full text, from G1 it is not possible to see enough, and there is no way to see them

offtopic, but why on earth is there no way to search my sms messages on the G1?
with it's inbuilt dataprovider structure, i would have thought that the G1 would ship with a search feature that would search EVERY app on the phone by fulltext. isn't that what having sqlite backends is for?!?!?
