The Marketplace of Ideas

• I favor a more permissive system than the American system; anyone should be able to say anything at anytime.

• I favor the American system; Freedom of Speech is broadly interpreted, meaning that speech is only illegal if it is slanderous or it actively incites violence or other illegal activity.

• I favor a more European system; Freedom of Speech is restricted if it is likely to produce an undesirable social effect, like encouraging racism.

• Freedom of Speech is a problem, and should be severely curtailed.
