What position would you like to see the Celtics address in Thursday night's draft? (Poll Closed)

Well I'm sad to see that those who voted on this pole would like to see the C's pick a center!? Perk is a perfectly good center. We have big men, we need to find a decent small foward/off guard to help spell Paul and Ray. I mean look at the minutes those two had to put up all season long!! Not just in the playoffs. Neither is getting any younger, and Tony Allen has been plagued with injuries for the better part of what 3 years?! I would like to see us re-sign Stephon, and go shopping for a decent back up PF/C in free agency, but draft a small forward type. Kinda like a Bill Walker but a little quicker maybe. Don't get me wrong I think Bill is going to turn in to a great second option behind Paul next season, but the C's need to start thinking about finding a quality guy that can play both the 2 and 3 to start molding in to postition to step up and take the torch one day. I think Bill and someone like Green from UNC could develope into a couple of stars that could take the torch in a few years from Ray and Paul when they finally decide to hang up the shoes. I'd like to think those guys could go on playing forever and we'd win 10 more championships once KG gets healthy but thats just not realistic. So to those of you who in my mind hated on Perk thinking we need a center, after he had the type of season that I think is deserving of Most Improved Player award consideration, second in the league only to Rondo's own improvement, I say poor use of a vote. It's gotta be a center, we have decent forwards/guards to spell the big 3. Perk gets in foul trouble and we go to a small forward in Baby or power forward in Leon, heck shoot for O'neal he wants out and we might get to cap room too. Walker is going to be a player next year if he gets some time and we see that Moore has got to go as a center back up. I shouldnt even had put that in as its a no brainer. CENTER

Power Forward position: Kevin Garnett has Leon Powe and Glen Davis to replace him off the bench Shooting Guard Position: Ray Allen has Eddy House off the bench Small Foward Position: Paul Pierce has no one that can come in and score some points. (no offense to Bill Walker but i don't like him) Center Position: Kendrick Perkins, needs a good replacement off the bench Point Guard Position: Rajon Rondo has Tony Allen off the bench that can score points...(no offense to Marbury but I don't like him) but we still need another strong point guard. Bottom line is we got find a good veteran Point Guard that can come off the bench and that can have the same impact as Rondo. (like a Iverson for example), a good Small Foward to replace the Truth (like a Tayshaun Prince for example) and a good Center (like a we had PJ Brown) So we got to be really careful picking someone...hope we make a good decision

Once K.G. is back, which is this year, we will be the same team that won the championship two years ago... So get whoever you want but K.G. DOESN'T need replacing. He has another three year contract, but if we can, next year, we should try and draft Hasheem Thabeet! I think what the Celtics need is a power forward who could play alongside Paul Pierce. The C's need someone wo can score big, with a lot of "heart" in wining games.....Also, a good point guard who can direct plays well....Stephon may be alright but I think he must be given more playing time to prove his worth in the team. well it really depends on what we do with Rondo. Since we keep looking to trade him. But if we keep him I think we need a SG or C because Ray isnt getting any younger and Mikki Moore didnt do as well as we probably hoped for. so either a Solid Center or someone to back Ray up. If we get rid of Rondo it will be a mistake, He will easily be in the top 5 Guards next year. But I'll always have confidence in my Celt's (: Lets go get 18 next year boys!

Harmony is so important on a team. Therefore I suggest they look for a point guard. I love what Rondo does on the floor, but he needs to grow up or change his ways in the club house.

Ya i agree completely with derek white we need a small forward to come off the bench and take pierces spot when hes in need of a break or in foul trouble. Perk and Baby and Leon are perfectly good centers and kg could probably play the position if needed. We have ta, bill walker to play the small forward position but they're guards not small forward and we need a true small forward to fill pierce's shoes when he needs a break or is in foul trouble. Oh and John baby is a power forward not a small forward like u think

We dont need another center we need someone who can come off the bench. We already have our starters in place. That was our problem in the playoffs we didnt have shooters who could score alot of points in a little time.

come on people if it's one problem we have its the post. we have 7" footers and active guys like howard to worry about in there; and leaving perkins alone in there. dont get me wrong he's a good defender but where is his backup. if we were to make it to the finals can he actually guard gasol, odom and bynum. these guys are huge and dangerous players. we need a true center and not a pf/c to truely be a force. weve got scorers but if we had a true center with garnette in there it will surely free up allen pierce house and and give rondo a whole lot more allys. lol! kinda like the rockets in 95 "the twin towers".

I think we need to shoot for a shooting guard. I love the big 3 but we need to face reality. Ray can be ice cold and not get it going for a whole game. In the playoffs when we need him most he is not there either. He showed up for what 4 out of 7 games against Chicago one amazing 50 point performance. Boston is flat out titletown this decade and we need someone that can handle the playoff pressure, and allen cannot. And for other positions we don't need anybody KG is here for a good 4-5 years and incase you haven't noticed still probably one of the most hungry players in the game. Pierce showed that he still has it, but it really looked like he was trying to do it all himself during the second half of the season and in the playoffs. Perkins played Dwight Howard better than anyone else in the playoffs limiting him big time, the only reason the stupid Lakers shut him down was because of height. Perkins matched him with strength. And for point guard Rondo is the catalyst, and quarterback of this team. Ainge says he needs to grow up and I agree if he cares more about himself, but find another point guard like him. OK he doesn't have the outside shot, but it came alive in the playoffs with a few threes, and name another point guard with his speed that can make the passes and amazing shots like he does. As for the bench we need to clear it out. Miki Moore needs to go, and so does Tony Allen. Mikki was no where to be found in the playoffs and Tony unfortunatley must have a curse on him because he is good, but he is also good at getting hurt. So theres minus a shooting guard right there. Also big baby will get a contract to go play somewhere else after his performance, and I don't blame him if he leaves and wants to start somewhere he got good learning from KG. We really should have kept James Posey, he was always a big help in our championship year, and besides KG, and as usual Allen missing in the playoffs, we were missing that spark off the bench. Yeah Eddie House got it going, but he can only do it from beyond the arc. Posey could drain them from out side get inside, and played good D on Kobe and Lebron when Pierce was actually out of the game. You need that type of player when our stars are on the bench. We need a shooting/small forward for this reason because we need the spark like a Posey or J.R. Smith or Birdman, or hey he's a free agent because you know they will sign Lamar Odom. A Young Small forward/ Shooting Guard Trevor Ariza! He showed what he could do in the playoffs. With Garnett back next year Perkins won't be in so much foul trouble and when he is you move Garnett to center and Powe to PF. So in the draft the Celtics i think should try and deal big baby, Tony Allen, and maybe Ray to try and move up to get a good player for the future, and start the bench from scratch. And even though I say trade Ray he is a big part of the Celtics, and maybe these messages can wake him up please for playoff time, because they will need him. I realize what Rondo has done and he was amazing. Triple Doubles that many times are hard to do, but do we really need our PG avg. 12 ribbies a game? No. We need size, and i love rondo he makes unbelievable plays with his wing span and speed, but his attitude it sounds like needs to change. He is our future. He reminds me of a young Paul Pierce. I say we do give him more time. However if Ainge doesn't think he will change and Rondos agent keeps making it sound like hes a bad guy I would try and trade rondo before he kills the locker room (MANNY) and get someone just as good because Ainge and Theo Epstien are good at this (JASON BAY). Celtics- Rondo Scal and Big Baby (BB was a big help in playoffs but he is a free agent and he can leave and we could get nothing for him!) and with the Grizzlies we get Rudy Gay (young can shoot and can get to the hoop) and the 2nd round pick where we draft Rubio. We will be superior with this team for at least a good 4-5 years so lets bring home number 18 and 19 and 20. And do it for Red because Phil Jackson was a disgrace with that ten hat about passing Red. It took him an EXTRA 20 YEARS TO PASS RED. and Phil had MR. AIR JORDAN AND SUPPOSEDLY THE SECOND BEST KOBE. Phil is 63 with 10 championships. Red retired at 48 with 9 championships.

We reallyyyyy need another scorer just like Paul :/ Someone to come in and score behind Paul......

they really need a point guard because paul pierce just does not always get the job done the way it is supose to be done.they need someone like stephen curry thats someone to get thejob done im not saying that paul pierce is bad but he just needs to try to hustle a little better.

Those who think that we need a scorer don't know what they're talking about. Have you ever heard of the big three? We've got all the scoring we need with them, because at least one of them is always on the floor. And for a Point? Rondo is doing a stellar job, and we have a great backup in Eddie House. We don't need a PF.. have we forgotten about Leon Powe? He's an excellent backup and we really missed him in the 09 playoffs, but nobody recognized it. We need a big man. Despite Glen Davis' showing in the playoffs last year, He's not ready to back up Perk, and It's easy to say that Perk is definitely the starter on the team who needs a good backup.. He's our weakest link. And for a SG, Ray Allen needs a better backup than Tony Allen, he's extremely injury prone and isn't the Celts answer.. So at this point i'd be happy to get either a SG or a C. Lets go get #18 baby.

what we need is to get rid of moore and walker and get a backup center like gortat from the magic. big baby is good but to short to be a true center. also get another decent scoring backup who can play both 2 and 3 to help out allen and pierce when they are tired. when kg and powe come back we will be unstoppable!
