The most important change that Michael Jakson brought to this world is love.
The king of pop is recognized and loved all over the world from Europe to
Africa, Australia to Asia. No matter where they are or who they are; Black or
White, Hindu or Muslim, ---- they all know Michael Jakson and feel the same
for him in their heart. There is no other music artist in this world who pushed
all the boundaries and brought so many hearts all togather.

Proof that Michael Jackson has left a great Legacy and impacted dancing around the world, is that everyone still goes out today and does the "moonwalk" and it is considered very cool. If you really want to impress a girl on a date, when you go dancing, start moon-walking all over the place. She will be very impressed!
Moon-walk when you go out to niteclubs. You will be regarded as very cool by everyone. Flood-pants which are too short for your legs are also regarded very cool today. Wear them to the office too. Be sure to wear the white socks and pants that are pulled up high and where the legs are too short and you will be regarded as Very cool. Try it!
The fact that these Michael Jackson dance moves and Michael Jackson fashions are still done and worn today proves that Michael Jackson has had a lasting impact on the whole world.
Also grab your crotch. This is another very cool legacy that Michael Jackson has contributed to the world. Be sure to wear the Michael Jackson jock-strap codpiece underwear on the outside of your pants when you do it.
Girls and everyone in school and at clubs and everywhere will think you are the coolest when you do these great things that Michael Jackson has contributed to the world as his great Legacy.

Michael Jakson is the king of pop through and through. If there is any American who made a real positive change in the world, that is Michael Jakson. Those who call him a soup sandwich are actually lower life forms than insects. They are so low that they don't know what it takes to be recognized and honored all over the world.

It should be more like " The Dancing Deviant " or the " Prancing Pedophile ". How come this pervert gets more attention than our boys who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq?

MR. RICK SANCHEZ, THIS POLL IS INCORRECT AND UNFAIR.
THIS POLL WILL NOT GIVE YOU OR THE PUBLIC A RIGHT PICTURE OF WHAT PEOPLE REALLY THINK OF MICHAEL JACKSON.
The statement is: "this guy was a pervert, do you agree?"
The choices: a)Yes. b) No, but even if he had been his talent outshone any allegations (or he possibly was pervert but he was very talented).
and c)I'm not sure.
There is no option to vote for so many of us who believe in his innocence. There is no option to vote for a No, he was NOT a pervert and period. That would be a Totally Different answer from Your Option b), which after a No, still suggests that he could be a pervert and/but a greater artist.
PLEASE READ THIS MR. SANCHEZ AND CHANGE YOUR POLL . MANY OF US ARE REFRAINING TO VOTE BECAUSE WE COULD NOT BY ANY MEANS CHOOSE ANY OF THE THREE OPTIONS YOU GIVE, WHICH IMPLY HE IS THE WAY PETER KING SO LOW AND IRRESPECTULLY DESCRIBED HIM. PLEASE BE MORE CAREFUL WRITING THE WAY YOU PRESENT THE OPTIONS BECAUSE I BELIEVE YOU DID NOT REALLY MEAN THE WAY YOU WROTE THEM.

The comment made by the NY Congressman shows the lack of respect this man has for the Jackson Family, Michael Jackson's fans, and the dead. It also shows the faith that he has in the legal system he was elected to defend. Michael Jackson was acquitted of those charges. Point blank! And for Rep. King, a man in a position of power to come out and say the things that he has said is outrageous. If Rep. King was charged with killing someone and got acquitted of the charges, he most certainly would not want to be called a murderer for the rest of his life. I am sure Michael Jackson's fans feel just as disrespected as I do! You, Congressman King of New York, need to learn to shut up.... don't use the power, which you wont have for long with those comments, to get on television and say some of the most ignorant propaganda ever! You, Congressman King Of New York, was not there so for you to believe or figure the allegations against Michael Jackson are true shows the lack of training, moral respect, decency, and forgiveness! You will never know how many lives Michael Jackson has saved due to his contributions NOT only in America, but in the World. You, Congressman King of New York, cant even began to understand the affect MJ has had on the world. The World as you, Congressman King of New York, would not even be possible if it were not for the KING OF POP. You disgust me with your lack of respect...... you see only the negative portrayed by media and paparazzi. You said yesterday that Rep King may have been inappropriate but alot of us are sick of the coverage and want a fresh story or something relevant to our lives. Mr. Peter King~YOU are really a jerk!!!!
Did you hit your head or you never use your brain.
I guess maybe YOU ARE not a normal person.
Cable news lost many important things and Michael Jackson's death are two different things.
That's all your personal opinions.
If you do really care "what does everyone says about us as a country?”
I'll say I'm so shame on your contry to have this stupid person like you!
A dead man can't control anybody.
Just being a human know that.
I also agree not to over report Michael Jackson's death.
But I won't to discredit somebody's reputation like YOU.
How many things you do for your citizen?
How many charities you support in your country, even the world?
According to this point, Michael is better than you~
And don't slap yourself, Michael Jackson was innocent on that case.
You don't trust the judgement = You don't trust the law of YOU're country
= You don't trust your country, right?
So just to make your own goverment, idiot!!!!

One more thing about Rep King's wods. We as human beings are able to see more deeply inside people, but unfortunately there are many people who see things only through the eyes of WHAT THEY ARE INSIDE. In this case the question would be: What would we do if we were alone with a child? BINGO. WHAT YOU ARE IS WHAT DETERMINES HOW YOU JUDGE OTHERS.

Hey Bill, I was very disspointed when OJ was not convicted, he was clearly guilty. But wasn't the motive in Michael Jackson different? Paying to finish a torture of a trial based on false accusations clearly aiming at money is totally different. No tender and gentle heart like Michael's would be able to put up with such kind of long exhaustign trial that would have lasted for many years, and unfearly damaged his image even more than it already did.

Michael Jackson was the only positive face of America to the people of the world. He was the only reason why people looked at America in a positive way. I come from a country where people don't know much about the ugly face of American political culture. But because of the internet, the media and the blind bigots like Rep. King, people around the world are starting to see the ugliness. So, my request to all Americans is that don't defame the star that shines on you.
Larrissa - 3 years ago
It is unbelievable how congressman peter king can say that about someone who just died. the court cases against him are small parts of his life and his career as an artist was outstanding part. He was one of the best if not the best entertainer in the world, and he had made a huge impact on pop culture. As for people who are saying that he was guilty because he paid off the family your wrong. That shows that the family was looking for money the entire time just like in the more recent case against him. I know if it was my child that was (supposedly) molested I wouldn't take any amount of money in exchange for dropping the charges unless I was looking for money. It proves that he didn't do it. I cannot believe how disrespectful people are being to a man who did so much good. He helped in many charities and raised awareness for so many causes. He wasn't found guilty of any charges that were brought against him so everyone should just stop talking about it. Another thing that people should stop talking about is his "constant drug use/abuse" everyone is focusing on the bad that he's done and they should be talking about all of the good that he has done. They also need to stop obsessing over the plastic surgery that he has had done. It's getting ridiculous now that they keep judging his surgeries and his life. No one should judge him in anyway. His childhood was robbed from him so he is basically a big kid, but that shouldn't concern any of us. If your childhood was taken from you, you would be acting the same most likely since you missed out on a lot. Michael Jackson was much more then the tabloid stories. He was an international icon who inovated music. That's what people need to focus on and remember, and pay tribute to. That congressmen should be ashamed of himself for saying those things about Michael Jackson.

I totally agree with Raquel&Okey Moronu
I am from the other side of the world and when ever I go back home friends, families and neighbor come to visit and stay the night over, because their children stay asleep with me while their parents goes out to work."IS THAT MEAN THAT I AM ALSO A CHILD MOLESTER TOO" I also sense a jealousy as his dancing, singing and, entertaining blew peoples mind. He was one of the best and NO ONE WILL EVER REPLACE HIM.
As a congressman, this man should respect not only the legal system, but the principals of the United States of America. In the United States, you are INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. Michael Jackson was acquitted, thus innocent. For this scumbag of a congressman to say otherwise shows that he has no faith in America. He should not be representing something he does not believe in. I ask for Rep. Kings resignation; after all, if he will not defend the constitution, he has no right being a congressman.
All I can say to that is - if you can think it, maybe you are it. There are places where nobody sees anything wrong with two men walking, holding hands, but not in America, adults sleep in the same bed with kids who may or may not be theirs in purely platonic relationships, but not in America. America is so perverted in their thought processes that innocent genuine relationships are distorted and represented as heinous, ugly and even ungodly. I am sorry for those who cannot see beyond the ridge of their noses. I never believed he was guilty of anything and nothing that have been presented publicly so far, has altered my views of Michael. The man is a legend and all you perverts should go look for another fall guy perhaps Rep. King closet who know what will be found or even the other Rep. what was his name..........that flew across oversea to see his mistress.

It is heartbreaking to see what I have seen on television since Michael's death. What I have seen is, it's the media coverage and what is now allowed to be aired, is what destroyed Michael. I understand that things have to be reported but what happened to just reporting facts and keeping your personal opinions to yourself. The congressman should come on television and apologize to the Jackson family for what he said. I understand that he has the freedom of speech but what about compassion for Michael's kids and family that is grieving at this time and have not laid Michael to rest. His comment did not look good coming from a congressman, a greater level of character is expected from someone who holds a position such as his. As for the coverage, Michael should have been acknowledged, to this degree, before his death. He has done so many wonderful things, for the world ,that I was not aware of until his death. This world has lost many, many great people. But, Michael was in a category all by himself. There won't be another one that can fill his shoes. Regardless of what people may say about him and we all have our opinions, no one can argue about his giving heart and what he has done for some MANY people in need. We need to just let him rest in peace.

For all who say that Michael admitted to sleeping with kids, please look at the context. Has any parent or uncle/aunt who is taking care of kids NOT allowed a child to innocently crawl into bed with them when they had a bad dream or simply were afraid of the dark? That was the point I heard Jackson making on this issue. By the judgement of people posting here any parent who has allowed a child to crawl into bed with them to simply sleep is a pedophile. Jackson was being honest, when asked if he ever slept with a child. He just didn't mean "slept with" in the way people with their heads in the gutter mean it, imho.

I don't watch CNN any longer, because they repeatedly report on the same news stories over and over. And my decision was reinforced today as I was flipping through the channels. As expected, CNN was talking about MJ every single time. It makes me wonder, is this the biography channel or the news channel?
Hey, CNN, get to work and tell your viewers what's going on around the world. We get it, MJ is dead and half the people are sad and the other half are happy. Who cares?! What else is going on?

I never believed Michael Jackson molested any children ever! What parent would ever accept any amount of money! By the parent taking the money to me means it's acceptable by the parent because the money makes it all better? I just have a hard time with that..because if that was my child no amount of money would be accepted and I would make certain that person went to jail! And by the way, if Michael Jackson did molest any children, why isn't he in jail? Hmmmmm?

The news coverage has been somewhat rude at times; and QUITE EXCESSIVE. Especially, when they report on speculation/rumors and continue to repeat the same developments on Michael's case over and over and over.
HOWEVER, WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE FACT THAT NO OTHER ARTIST IN MUSIC HISTORY HAS ACCOMPLISHED MORE THAN MICHAEL JACKSON. Michael Jackson set records on and off the stage, with his music and charitable giving. As a huge BEATLES fan and MUSIC LOVER, i say this Michael Jackson accomplished more than the BEATLES and ELVIS PRESELY combined.
Plus, when you consider the fact that Michael Jackson is an international icon who changed the way the music industry was run, set monumental records such as: Most successful concert series in history, Best selling album of all time, MOST AWARDS WON than any other artist ever, Singed the largest record contract in history ($890 million), Highest paid commercial spokesperson, Most #1 Hits by Male Artist (13) in history, touched the lives of billions of people, broke down barriers in the music industry, race, and philanthropic efforts, has sold more than 780 million records, produced a number #1 record in every decade in which he lived, and dedicated 40 of his 50 years on the planet to entertaining his fans... THE CONTINUOUS COVERAGE SHOULD BE EXPECTED, BUT THE COVERAGE SHOULD BE RESPECTFUL AND NOT EXCESSIVE!

This coverage is way over the top....We should be concentrating on the important issues facing ALL Americans and let his family bury him and grieve over their loss without costing taxpayers money in the process. None of us know whether he molested children or not. I do know that his behavior was totally weird and that he brought suspicion to himself by talking about sleeping with young boys and doing everything possible to make himself look like a white female. He ruined his own reputation by his own actions but everyone is supposed to be quiet because he was black and if we tell it like it is, of course we're racist. Or because he could sing and dance, he gets a free pass on the drugs. We need better 'LEGENDS' and 'ICONS' for young people and others to look up to. How many young people reading this would like to be just like Mike? How many adults would want their child to pattern themselves after Michael Jackson?
SistaSan - 3 years ago
I was, and remain, shocked and saddened that MJ is "Gone Too Soon"; and, like many others leaving comments, I have grown more than weary of the almost incessant media coverage. The first few days were 'understandable' ... the news was shocking; it now borders on obscene. Where is the respect and compassion for MJ's family ... especially his mother and children?
Personally, I do not believe MJ would, intentionally, hurt anyone ... and particularly not a child. After all the 'pain' he endured as a child, I believe he only wanted to bring joy and happiness to children ... not 'pain'. Yes, he was a rather 'odd duck', in many ways. Was he 'strange'? Did he occasionally exercise 'poor judgment' YES! Geniuses often are a bit 'strange'; but this man was NOT a 'pervert' or child molester.
As for Rep. King ... I would feel much safer leaving my child with Michael than with a man so uncommonly callous, bigoted, and ignorant.
As for the media (especially CNN), I hope you scale back on the MJ coverage after the memorial service to let his family and friends have some time to grieve. I also hope you do not get so 'caught up' in the drama surrounding the death of Steve McNair that you 'forget' that he, too, was a father, a son, and a brilliant contributor to his profession. If negative aspects of these deaths continue to be blown out of proportion to the positive contributions the men made, one might have to 'wonder' why no such heavy attention was given to the bizzare circumstances of David Carridine's death!?! Surely you don't reserve this type of scrutiny for only Black icons?
Bottom-line, I wish you'd get back to reporting REAL news ... you look and sound so much better when you do.

In response to a comment posted above, yes we know OJ did it. The evidence and facts were very explicit and why he got off if a heck of a mystery to me, however, Michael Jackson opened his life up (maybe too much and it's pretty obvious, although sad now) to these children and families. They quite frankly used that fact that Michael was so open as an open opportunity to get what they could out of him. If I'm not mistaken, the accusers later admitted that the allegations were untrue. Besides, if I truly believed my child was molested, there is no amount of money in the world that would shut me up and I'd see to it that the person that did it was put under the jail. Any good mother would agree. That proves to me that they pretty much got what they wanted...money. It's just sad that they had to destroy someone's reputation for self-profit.

This congressman is crazy! Michael Jackson was not a pedophile! He was found not guilty of all charges! He was a wonderful man that changed the world in many ways and deserves to be respected. My question is why are most media outlets trying to attack MJ's legacy? And why when Elvis died of a drug overdose on the toilet and was proven to be at 25 years old pursueing a 13 year old (priscilla) he was not attacked like this? Leave Michael alone and let all of us ( most of the world) who love him mourn the lose of the greatest entertainer and human beingto have ever lived. This guy better hope he is not up for re election anytime soon because we will all remember his comments.

People people please...think about it. If you had a whole world watching you and scrutinizing you, you'd probably introvert as well. As far as child "molestation charges" Representative King is ignorant and needs to focus on his job and not talking poorly about Michael Jackson. First of all, he was acquitted, that's that. He's not a molestor. It's very saddening to know that people spend so much time believing in our system, but only when it conveniences them. Don't be ignorant like Rep. King. If you think there's too much coverage, that's understood, but do not disrespect someone by calling them a pedofile when they have not be charged as such. Come on people...show some common sense and compassion perhaps..
Food for thought: Does anyone believe in karma? If MJ was such a bad person, he would not have had this huge of an affect on the world after his passing...I'm pretty sure of this...just think about it before you judge. Rest in Peace Mr. Michael Jackson.

I agree that Michael's coverage is extreme/overboard but only because I'm not interested in all the details the media thinks is so very important to the public. Let the man rest in peace. The media should spare us (his fans) the details. His family is entitled to know how he died and to determine if anyone is responsible for his death. When will the media respect one's privacy? King spoke (stupid remarks!) to all of Michael's fans and Michael's family with his stupid hurtful remarks. He spoke directly to Michael and his family, not to the media. Extremely hurtful! One can communicate what one means "stop already!" without stupid comments about Michael's past. King made me gasp! I'm glad Michael no longer has to hear such awful hurtful things, but his family heard it. Let us, as fans, mourn Michael as an entertainer that was greatly appreciated and respected. I so feel for his family, friends, the music industry, etc. The media will damage the music industry tainting with expectations of entertainers understress, etc. Will they (the media) take responsibility for someone's death...with all the publicity, etc? The media is responsible for all these hours of rumors, inuendos, etc. about Michael. Michael, as you requested, "leave me alone" will come tomorrow...just one more day of all this maddness! Another comment, CA wants funds to pay for Michael's memorial...why not ask the Media to make a major contribution to this, it's their cameras covering all of this! As if CA isn't going to make loads of money from the airlines, taxis, hotels, etc. No wonder Michael was tired!

I like the coverage of Michael Jackson. It makes me remember the good stuff he did. When MJ died people who didn't like his music or the person they like him now. Honestly I don't believe, Michael Jackson, as different as he may have been (don't pass judgement because you don't know what it took to drive him to that place), could be capable of committing such a horrific crime. I just truly, truly don't think he could find it in his heart to do such a thing. We all know how it feels to be accused of something we didn't do. Children were his passion and in his opinion (besides animals) they are the only people who up until that point wouldn't betray him. Regardless of my personal views and what I believe he was or wasn't capable of doing, the man is dead. His accomplishments, regardless of the controversial events surrounding his life, were awesome. Although I am guilty of following the events concerning his death on the news very closely, I do believe that there are so many twists and turns concerning this incident that we won't truly know many of the solid facts until after the memorial and upcoming court dates. The media coverage is becoming a "media circus" trying to figure out what's REALLY going on. Therefore, it may be best if there is less coverage. I think that the Congressman's approach however was very rude and classless. Like I said, Michael Jackson is dead and he was acquitted of those charges. It would be significantly different if the allegations were hailed true and if we were talking about an individual who had been proven to be a child molester. With all of that said, yes media coverage is a little overboard, however, nobody is forcing anyone to sit and watch these channels that are so heavily covering Michael Jackson. I know that if I was tired of watching something, I'd use something called a remote and turn the channel. Food for thought people...

I don't agree & it's coz of some people like him,the media destroyed M.J repetation. All the fans want is let us celebrate his legacy since it is too late & a shame we didn't when he was alive. You should stop labelling people as perverts & child molesters when you don't have any proof and further more you are not the court which infact found him innocent!M.J sacrificed his childhood for the world all he might wanted to do is give the children a better childhood coz he didn't have one but his actions were misunderstood and some vultures took advantage of it in the process.Rep. King let the legend be & if it is jealously & u want your 15 mins of fame, may you be forgiven!

Look at the facts before you shoot your mouths...Michael did not pay off the kid, his insurance company brokered the deal which was "Out of his hands" in this deal the stuff was negotiated by his insurance company, plus initially the kid (Arvizo I believe) did not want to testify he was also acquitted off all charges...yes people have money and sometimes use it to their advantage but look at this, can you put a price on your child and accept money (as a parent) and believe that this will make it easier to swallow the fact that your child has been "molested"?. I hate it when people talk out of their mouths thinking they know all the facts especially in the media. I agree that he has got a lot of coverage and that it might rub some people the wrong way, if so go and watch "Home Improvement" or "A&E" no one's forcing you to watch CNN or HLN or MSNBC. I may be a bit biased because I am an ardent fan and the only reason I reserve any use of expletives is because the "Holier than thou" congressman actually is protected by the freedom of speech amendment.

i think what this guy just said is outrageous and uncalled for he has no business to bring up the past whatever Michael did before should be left in the past

Michael Jackson was a idol for everyone. He donated millions to charity. =D CNN please don't air Peter King. Think of how Jackson fan's will feel and how much they will dislike King
Ed - 3 years ago
Enough already. You have went from being a balanced news coverage channel, to showing a style of reporting that would do the
National Examiner, or National Inquirer proud. You seem to have forgotten all
of the important issues that face us today. You pick a few items each
morning and than it is repeated over and over each hour, with a lot of
"talking heads" thrown in.
Cassandra - 3 years ago
I am enjoying the coverage of Michael. I think we have covered Iran, Iraq, Afganistan, and the whole likes for years, every since Bush took office. If you don't know about them by now, then you probably won't. Michael never molested any children, and we all know it. I think we have sense of enough to know that people were merely estorting money from him. Conrad Jordan has publicly admitted that he lied. It's on the web. How sad he admitted it after Michael died. I say give Michael even more coverage.

Peter King should use his time talking about politics. Michael Jackson is dead if you cannot say anything nice do not say anything. A Congressman should not call anyone a bad name. He should be a professional at all times. Yes the coverage has been too much.
pam - 3 years ago
i think peter king will be better of thinking about the perverts and adulterers in his own party instead of saying nasty things about the dead. i will not be surprised if he is also found out to be one of the holier than thou , cheating on their wives republicans. i don't think he will agree to being called a pervert if he sleeps with his kids at home. so shut up or put up peter king.
ACE - 3 years ago
This guy has no reason to comment on Michael's personal life and by the way what is a politician doing commenting on a celebrities life those are two different area's.
fcdt3 - 3 years ago
By now, we know that everyone---especially self-righteous Republicans---has done things in the past that they regret, and would be embarassed to have the entire world know about. This includes Peter King. Perhaps Peter King's own past misdeeds will one day be revealed, for the whole world to see.

Dont speak ill of the dead, are you kidding me. What about the ill things Michael Jackson did to those poor kids. By his own admission he slept with kids. Wake up you idiots

King just said what millions think. But in this sick politically correct stinkin world, I hail the congressmen for saying what so many think about the pedo....
Kevin - 3 years ago
Another quick point. Rep. King's comment, lashing out at Michael Jackson, is misplaced, it seems to me, if his concern is about the level of media coverage and public celebration. Why blame MJ for the Media's and public's fixation with him as a cultural icon? Rep. King is simply too cowardly to say what he must really mean, that is that he villifies the media and huge numbers of the public who hold Michael in high esteem. Further, does anyone doubt that the Media is perpetuating this story as it is also likely a cash cow; they're simply jumping on the Jackson bandwagon like the good capitalist institutions that they represent, no?
Michelle - 3 years ago
I think that with every death, family, close friend, whoever their life and impact on other lives should be respected and honored. There is no fact that Michael Jackson was a pedophile or molester, thats what was assumed but not proven. And I do not believe that just because the media is OVER-covering his death tha derrogatory comments should surface. At the time of your death, would you wish for others to reflect on your mistakes or misfurtune?
Raymond - 3 years ago
Ok the media over covers everything that is no reason to lash out a Michael Jackson he is dead what good will that do. Plus the man has been convicted of nothing. I am so sick of the Republicans and their hate. The get away with it because their supporters are what are left of old America that is about hate, discrimination, and separation of people.

I hope when this hateful politician is dead someone takes a rumor from his past and slanders him all over the media. I feel very sorry for the people in his district whom he is representing.

The fact is MJ created his own legacy with his improper behaviour as he did with his music. The MJ circus is just begining and we as CNN viewers will have to endure more Breaking News on the MJ saga. But Fox is even worse.

Just like OJ Simpson, though he was found innocent in court, Jackson has paid millions to the families of his victims.
Larry - 3 years ago
Point out to Mr King that even if Michael Jackson was guilty, he was not a hypocrite and he was no more guilty than say former Republican congressman Mark Foley, SC Governor Mark Sanford, and Republican pundit Bill O'Reilly. As for Mr Jackson paying out hush money, I am curious as to just how much hush money Bill O'Reilly and Rupert Murdoch paid out to the woman Mr O'Reilly harassed?
Bill - 3 years ago
If the molester was so inosent,,WHY did he pay his way out of the first case,,and How was the child able to describe his genitals?
james - 3 years ago
OJ was found innocent, too. that tells you what money can buy.

Micheal Jackson was a amazing pop artists whose music was impacted nationwide as well as internationally. But, the fact that those allegations were accused towards micheal jackson is just ludacris and that its very inmature and disrespectful to shame his name and especially when his family is in grieving at this time its just not right and completely low-down. I guess he never learned if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all. and if i remember correctly micheal was innocent.
Angela Walker - 3 years ago
Shame on Peter King. Michael Jackson has done so many wonderful things for people all over the world. He has done more good than most politicians.
Continue the postitive coverage of this wonderful man's life and please stop airing King's comments. It is hurtful and mean. Think of his family!
Brandon - 3 years ago
I totally agree with what 'Bobbi' commented about Farrah vs Michael Jackson coverage. It is completely unfair. I got sick of hearing about Jackson's death after the second day!
Kevin - 3 years ago
Rep. King appears not to respect the rule of law in perpetuating false allegations for which Jackson was exonerated in a court of law. How can a Congressman display such disregard for the rule of law? King's credibility suffers, imho. Further, a prior pay out by Jackson does not prove allegations. Jackson valued his privacy and as King's comments demonstrate there are too many people willing to judge without access to any facts in the matter. Thus, in lieu of court/lawyer fees, a media circus and facing prejudiced opinions like King's, Jackson simply chose a more expeditious route of settling with someone who may simply have been seeking monetary gain in the first place. This is as plausible as assuming guilt that has never been proved. Finally, the second choice in the poll stating that his "artistry outshone any perceivied improprieties" seems biased to me as well. I think the choice should be simply "No" I disagree that he was a pervert, period, regardless of the stature of his artistry (which is indisputably high).

Rick,
I would like to see the news media use this tradegy as an opportunity to educate people about child molestation. It is a crime that is extremely difficult to prove, that most people don't want to believe happens, and that the perpetrators of can be anyone. Millions of Americans were abused as children and spend their lives struggling to overcome the lifelong effects of this hideous crime.

It's so sad that a person can be vindicated in court, found NOT GUILTY for a crime he did NOT commit, and yet we have ignoramous' still trying to defame and convict him, even after his death. Peter King is a demogog and should not be in office. Since he has no respect for the law and justice, why is he a public official? He's a slanderer!! If investigated I wonder what skeletons will be found in his closet. Where is Larry Flynn when we need him??

Stupid choices, so I didn't vote. Stop reporting on him 24 hours a day. There are more important things going on.

Oh for gods sake , your an idiot for a congressman , politicans, go figure, dwell on the negativity and dont really help the people who are alive and need it.
Hes dead , dont speak ill of the dead , remember it comes back. He was aquitted and hes gone leave it be. I also sense a bit of jealousy as his dancing and entertaining blew peoples mind. He was the best and no one will see the likes of him again.

if jackson is innocent of pedophilia, then why did he pay that family 20 million bucks to end the court case?

Farrah Fawcett died just before Michael Jackson and she was dropped from the news in favor of him. There was a little blurb about when her funeral was, but we have been seeing nothing but MJ in the news all the time. I have either been changing the channel or turning the television off altogether. He was an entertainer just like other entertainers, but they don't rate the coverage he is getting. WHY??????????
daniel folkes - 3 years ago
the way i see it is that micheal jackson died years ago, whites wouldnt accept him, blacks made fun at him... i truly believe he was a freak.. so stop covering this retarded story.. incase you were wondering i am black

I Agree. This is a bit insane coverage. It's over a week and were still talking about the very sick man. Lets over REAL news instead of old stale news on a very sick and troubled man.
Gio - 3 years ago
Sure the coverage is too much and the expeculation the same. But as long as we stay tuned and watch that's what we'll get. We do have the freedom to tune away but we don't. I mean here we are commenting on the topic. The congressman is wrong to comment on pop culture the way he did. Look innocent till proven guilty. Sure doubts exist but this is the way it is. I mean did Bush know there weren't any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? I leave you with that.
Okey Moronu - 3 years ago
I agree completely with Raquel.
During the Michael Jackson's saga, I remember listening to a CNN debate at that time and one of the gueats commented 'What kind of 40 year old man sleeps with kids in the same bed'. All I can say to that is - if you can think it, maybe you are it.
There are places where nobody sees anthing wrong with two men walking, holding hands, but not in America, adults sleep in the same bed with kids who may or may not be theirs in purely platonic relationships, but not in America.
America is so perverted in their thought processes that innocent genuine relationships are distorted and represented as heinous, ungly and even ungodly. I am sorry for those who cannot see beyond the ridge of their noses.
I never believed he was guilty of anything and nothing that have been presented publicly so far, has altered my views of Michael. The man is a legend and all you perverts should go look for another fall guy.
RTB - 3 years ago
What kind of stupid poll IS this? The only options are basically, "Michael was a pedo" or "Michael was a pedo, but he was a darn good performer" or "Michael may or may not have been a pedo, but I'm not sure." Since I think Michael was innocent and I'm sick of the media spitting on his grave, I refuse to vote.

Raquel - 3 years ago
As a congressman, this man should respect not only the legal system, but the principals of the United States of America. In the United States, you are INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. Michael Jackson was acquitted, thus innocent. For this scumbag of a congressman to say otherwise shows that he has no faith in America. He should not be representing something he does not believe in. I ask for Rep. Kings resignation; after all, if he will not defend the constitution, he has no right being a congressman.
abngrunt - 3 years ago
Rep King was wrong and right, however that doesn't change the fact that the media should get a "life" and do their jobs and cover the news that "might" affect this country. As a member of the US Army for the last 15 yrs who has done what my county has asked of me, I am tired and sicken , since our country is tearing its self apart and the only thing the media wants to cover is MJ , its sad when service members are killed and the media and some fans look the other way as if we don't say anything it will just go away!!! sad, sad, sad!
CSM - 3 years ago
Michael Jackson was never convicted of molesting any child. By all the laws of the USA, he is not a molester.
It seems that citizen of the US care little about the law. Despite his acquittal, people repeat the charges and make judgments about Jackson. This dismissal of the results of trial decisions is not just amongst the ignorant. It includes the media, the Congress and many others.
On the topic of media coverage of the Jackson death, consider how they work. This death is a godsend. A controversial star, rather a freak. Decades of video. Dozens of people to interview who already know how to talk on camera. It is so much easier than covering actual news.
We cannot expect much of the media. And daily, they live down to our expectations.
BarbNPhx - 3 years ago
TOO much coverage of MJ. Some coverage is fine as, but it is the same junk over and over. How about a little coverage on stuff like Al Qaeda trying to get to the nukes in Pakistan so they can use them against us? How about uncovering EXACTLY where this so-called "Stimulus" money is being spent - down to the penny. Why is unemployment nearing (or at) double-digits? How about the crooks at the mortgage companies that pushed loans on folks who clearly could not afford them? Why aren't those people being punished to the full extent allowed by law?
Greg - 3 years ago
I still to this day have a hard time believing Michael Jackson was a child molester. I mean, he wouldn't even hurt a fly either.
Voted for "No" did not make "No" to increase by 1
But made "Yes" to increase by 2.
just let you know people in different countries talked about your stupid vote about MJ.
kaziman, can you please name three real positive changes in the world that were made by Michael Jackson?
Yes. MICHAEL JACKSON WAS "THE KING of PØØP" !
Agreed!
What the hell!!!
Stop this fool vote!!
Rep. Peter King,Don't do this for your exposure rate!!!OK!!!
"You know, don't judge a person, do not pass judgement, unless you have talked to them one on one."
Please let Michael rest in peace!!!
Michael Jakson is the king of pop through and through. If there is any American who made a real positive change in the world, that is Michael Jakson. Those who call him a soup sandwich are actually lower life forms than insects. They are so low that they don't know what it takes to be recognized and honored all over the world.

ENOUGH ALREADY, I'm sick of the freak show! Boy this must be a slow news day in the world! Stop calling this soup sandwhich the King of Pop......
You need to get out of your little bubble..... open your heart..... open your mind..... and for now just close your mouth!

I am sorry to hear your not on the air today. I understand the Jackson memorial is news, but it needs to end Rick. You said yesterday that Rep King may have been inappropriate but alot of us are sick of the coverage and want a fresh story or something relevant to our lives. The longer this goes on the angrier your viewers will get. Great work on the other stories though, hopefully the jackson story will be put in the ground with him.
Rep. King,i just want to say you are idiot.Shut your mouth please~~~~
LOL Peter King! I would talk shit to if I had a name like that!
i think he ful of it. i have not heard any thing he had done for the poor like micheal jackson done so what does he call micheal exwife a baby seller i dont hear no one saying any thing about, that and he not even thinging about micheal kids they dont wont to hear that kind of talk about they dad because none of that is true so let mr.micheal jackson rest in peace. and they did they elvis because aug they show is show and they still do it as of this day. idont hear him saying any thing about that and he kill himself
Go see where Jordan Chandler (accuser in 1993) ADMITS HE LIED NOW THAT MJ IS DEAD! Come on people...the first kid admits he lied and the 2nd case he was aquitted!!! http://sjsandteam.wordpress.com/2009/06/28/jordan-chandler-admits-he-lied-about-michael-jackson/
Slander charges should be pressed against Rep King
Congressman is ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Not only because I think he is dead wrong also because no other congressman has said anything so far, and I am sure some of the congressman like him wanted to. I think this congressman has some serious problem dealing with different RACE and COLOR. His mind is full of jealousy, nothing else. And some people wanted to see more of the WAR coverage not MIchael Jackson, well then , they should tune in to FOX NEW Channel. Leave CNN alone, they are doing a fine job as far as what to cover or not.

King closet who know what will be found or even the other Rep. what was his name..........that flew across oversea to see his mistress.
REP PETER KING SHOULD MAKE SURE HE WIPE HIS ASS CLEAN FIRST BEFORE HE TRIES TO WIPE SOMEONE ELSES ASS.
Enough already!!!
Thank goodness he's getting buried tomorrow and maybe some of this nonsense will slow down.
How many drinks did Rep. King have while in the Legion hall? I don't know but the rumors can easily be started if you know what I mean.
Peter King ... It takes one to know one...
Hmmmmm?
do you people realize that he was INNOCENT???
Oh America! What hypocrisy. It is said in the Bible a prophet is always rejected by his own people. MJ was rejected by America a long time ago so I am not surprised by all these hateful comments.
Thanks that the rest of the world does not share your hateful points of view and treated him for the PROPHET he is .Have you haters ever wondered your own American MJ is still very popular in Europe and the rest of the world? with sell out concerts from London to Japan? You hate mongers killed John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, etc. You killed all your prophets. The blood of those you killed will live to haunt you and your families for generations to come. Oh my God, What Hate.
Ain't this America.
mich jackson was a great entertainer but enough is enough
let him rest in peace
This should make every American ashamed. America
> as a whole paid more attention to the death of an
> entertainer than the death of an American Soldier.
>
>
>
> An American soldier died today (6-24-09).
> I do not know his name.
> His country called him and he answered with his
> life.
> He did not squander billions of dollars
> nor did he sleep with little boys.
> Was he acknowledged on the news?
> Was his picture on national television?
>
> An American soldier died today.
> I do not know his name.
> He is the one the nation should be mourning,
> I will mourn for him and his family.
> I will remember him and his sacrifice!
@LH......You are correct.....Conrad Jordan.....the first molestation case.......He is now stating that he lied and was forced to do so.......I'm wondering why the media isn't all over this......Like I said...How sad that he now confesses after Michael's death, because it was his father and him who began this hideous soga that eventually lead to Michael's demise
Amen to what other people are saying! If I believed any touched my child, there is NO sum of money they could pay me to pursue them for the sake of justice to my child...this proves ONCE AGAIN that MJ was innocent as proven. Thank you thank you
Enough already! Put the freak in the ground and move on to news that really means something and affects our lives, not some overpaid entertainer.
Can you name me 5 people whose name and face is recognized world wide? (Probably not) Give MJ his due, there has never been anyone who has transcended race had an affect on all demographics through his artistry the way he has. My suggestion, if you don’t like to watch turn the channel.
I want to express my love and condolences to the Jackson family. And to all The MJ haters (GET OVER IT)
This coverage is way over the top....We should be concentrating on the important issues facing ALL Americans and let his family bury him and grieve over their loss without costing taxpayers money in the process.
"If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at YOURSELF and make a change"
-MJ
And the comment king said is ruthless and mean. When he (P. King)dies and his death is on TV i would grab my controller change the channel or play video games.
Congressman King better watch out his life story does not surface, and it might not be good. It is a shame that racism and jealousy still surface. When Elvis died no one made comments against him. Michael gave a lot more to the world than alot of politicians did. Michael we love you RIP!!!!!
Others who made actual, real, contributions have died during this time yet we ignore their passing. I speak of Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Karl Malden, McNamara and others who chose not to sleep with children. My first thought when I heard the news was that young children are safer now. Maybe he was acquitted, but give us a break and move on............
Oh yeah, as for that congressman.... Don't we have some new laws to made or something?.....Why is he weighing in so heavily on Michael?....Somebody please ask him what is he doing about the housing crisis, nearly 46 million Americans with no health care, the slumping economy, rising gas prices, nearly 10% of Americans jobless, the poor education system......Again....Why isn't Peter King on his job?!!!
i don't think he should be getting in peoples business like that the guy is dead give it a rest
Wow, For the folks that say is was not convicted......Neither was OJ....enough said.
I think the media coverage is a bit too much. I also think that Mr. King has something to hide. He has something in his closet. Check it out!
Yes the coverage has been too much.
i think peter king will be better of thinking about the perverts and adulterers in his own party instead of saying nasty things about the dead. i will not be surprised if he is also found out to be one of the holier than thou , cheating on their wives republicans. i don't think he will agree to being called a pervert if he sleeps with his kids at home. so shut up or put up peter king.
This guy has no reason to comment on Michael's personal life and by the way what is a politician doing commenting on a celebrities life those are two different area's.
By now, we know that everyone---especially self-righteous Republicans---has done things in the past that they regret, and would be embarassed to have the entire world know about. This includes Peter King. Perhaps Peter King's own past misdeeds will one day be revealed, for the whole world to see.
One thing both sides can agree upon: Michael Jackson touched a generation.
Enough of Michael already.....PLEASE!
I think that with every death, family, close friend, whoever their life and impact on other lives should be respected and honored. There is no fact that Michael Jackson was a pedophile or molester, thats what was assumed but not proven. And I do not believe that just because the media is OVER-covering his death tha derrogatory comments should surface. At the time of your death, would you wish for others to reflect on your mistakes or misfurtune?
Ok the media over covers everything that is no reason to lash out a Michael Jackson he is dead what good will that do. Plus the man has been convicted of nothing. I am so sick of the Republicans and their hate. The get away with it because their supporters are what are left of old America that is about hate, discrimination, and separation of people.
I hope when this hateful politician is dead someone takes a rumor from his past and slanders him all over the media. I feel very sorry for the people in his district whom he is representing.
While I dont agree with cheeting on your spouse. It is one thing to have multiple afairs with a consenting adult,It is a totaly diferent story to Molest a child.Pedophiles should all be put to death.
If the molester was so inosent,,WHY did he pay his way out of the first case,,and How was the child able to describe his genitals?
OJ was found innocent, too. that tells you what money can buy.
Micheal Jackson was a amazing pop artists whose music was impacted nationwide as well as internationally. But, the fact that those allegations were accused towards micheal jackson is just ludacris and that its very inmature and disrespectful to shame his name and especially when his family is in grieving at this time its just not right and completely low-down. I guess he never learned if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all. and if i remember correctly micheal was innocent.
Shame on Peter King. Michael Jackson has done so many wonderful things for people all over the world. He has done more good than most politicians.
Continue the postitive coverage of this wonderful man's life and please stop airing King's comments. It is hurtful and mean. Think of his family!
I totally agree with what 'Bobbi' commented about Farrah vs Michael Jackson coverage. It is completely unfair. I got sick of hearing about Jackson's death after the second day!
Linda in California
He was a degenerate plain and simple.Bought his way out of the charges, couldn't buy his way out of death.
Not only were several children (that we know of) were affected, but this icon, said by his actions to the world, that it is okay to seduce children. Some power of example he was.
WHY??????????
the way i see it is that micheal jackson died years ago, whites wouldnt accept him, blacks made fun at him... i truly believe he was a freak.. so stop covering this retarded story.. incase you were wondering i am black
I Agree. This is a bit insane coverage. It's over a week and were still talking about the very sick man. Lets over REAL news instead of old stale news on a very sick and troubled man.
I agree with Raquel!
I still to this day have a hard time believing Michael Jackson was a child molester. I mean, he wouldn't even hurt a fly either.
