I mostly prefer centered, but left-aligned isn't so bad. Right-aligned, however, drives me nuts. I don't see it often, but I came across a blog the other day that was right-aligned and it was very awkward to have to focus on that side of the screen. Maybe my eyes are just getting old, but I doubt I'm alone.
Not bothered in the slightest. Statistics would probably show most modern sites developed in the past 5 years are centre aligned but I'm personnally not fussed in using a website or web application which is left, centred, right, fluid, full browser or any other possible method!
My preference is right aligned for usability. Have the scrollbar near the navigational elements means the user moves the mouse less and more accuratley. But until such time as browsers move thief scrollbars to the left or right aligned is more accepted, I design center alined or fluid left aligned.
Depends on the design, of course, but generally better centered - that's the best position on screen for my head direction, and for the usual area that my mouse pointer spends the time in, by default :)
I said left-aligned (which is much easier for me to code,) but now that I'm rethinking it, center-aligned LOOKS so much cleaner and neater...
Even if it's a trashy short-cut, though, it's SO wonderfully easier to use absolute positioning, working from the upper-left corner out. ^^; I guess I need to just do things the harder way, though...
centered is always better since nowadays a user might have a monitor 1680+ pixels wide where as a website would be 960 pixels wide. if you alight the page either to the lest or to the right then it wont be comfortable for the user. if its centered then its perfect.
Centred, I like having any white space equally split either side. Just looks a lot nicer to me.
It also matches what generally happens in print where left and right margins are equal.
I prefer left aligned, with the navigation on the right. It looks better and my head automatically looks at the left side of the screen.
I definitly prefer a layout that adjusts to the actual browser size! Fixed width layouts are really really oldschool - get rid of them!
definitely it depends on situation
will prefer center aligned... it takes most of my attention and easy to notice all the elements ..
for non-text, i perfer a centered layout most of the time...

centered is better for all my purposes

Seriously, who put that they prefered a right aligned site? Really?
"Surprisingly, Everyone is in the Mainstream...." - That's why it's called "mainstream" ...
Center aligned any day! ... although my own website is left-aligned .. lol
Left aligned - makes it deal with multiple windows from different applications ...

I prefer center-aligned, but my next website is going to be left-aligned, just to shake things up.

As both a user and a designer, definitely centered.
defenetly a centered layout.
Centered!!!

i prefer fluid width layout
It depends on the webdesign!
I am not suprised at all at these results!
Surprisingly, Everyone is in the Mainstream....
Definitely centered.
