Abram Lloyd Siegel, you amaze me. I watched you grow and learn to dance like Michael J. I can remember the first day you picked up Dad's guitar. You were 12 years old. It wasn't the first time you had picked it up but it was the first time you were serious about it. I watched you teach yourself how to play it...both the acoustic and the bass. I watched you struggle and yet accomplish with piano lessons. I heard your beautiful singing voice go from soprano, which you were not ashamed of, to tenor, to the beautiful baritone/bass you sing now. I heard it improve with voice lessons and membership in the Columbus Symphony Chorus. I guess what I am saying is I've been blessed to have watched your progress musically. To see the musician, the very heart and soul of you, take shape. Dad and I wanted nothing more from you than who you were. I am proud that we had the sense to let you be who you were and to help you be whoever that turned out to be. Of course, you know that because we are in a sense musicians too, we were overjoyed to see that in you and in Anna. But the point I really wanted to make in this comment section was I never saw the creative side of you. I did not know until you started your Master's degree that there was so much creativity inside of you. It has both surprised me and delighted me. This is a wonderful production you have created. You have put it together well. But more importantly, you have taken the time to honor someone whose work you respect. Michael had problems. He made unwise choices morally and in other ways. But he was a human being. A talented musician, entertainer and most of all a man. Many will say he was not worth the time or thought because of his lack of morality and his "wierdness". But the heart of you has said, yes, he is worth the time. I am ever so proud of you, Son. Love, Mom
