Mr Pete Rose aka Charlie Hustle should most definitely be put in the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on the field of play. i'm originally from Long Island, N.Y. and when i played baseball or any other sport, i patterned my game after one of the greatest to play the game and i always gave 110% when playing Baseball, Football etc. and Pete didn't know how to play any other way. i always liked Mr. Hustle, not matter what he did on the diamond. i did root for the Mets for a short time, and i'll never forget how hard he slid into second and Buddy Harrelson, at that time he was a really good shortstop. the N.Y. newspapers tore Pete apart for playing the game the way it should be played and that is hard all the time. i'll never forget the All Star Game, i forget the year that Pete Rose tried to score from second on a hit by the next batter. needless to say, the papers tore him apart for how he barreled over Ray Fosse, a catcher with the Indians at that time and he was never the same after that. there's just too many things to say about Pete Rose and to me, one of the greatest to play the game. look what happens to people who play professionally, no matter what the game is for breaking many rules of every sport and getting basically a slap on the wrist. in my opinion and i'm allowed to have one just like everyone else, the worst indescretion that could have many reprecussions is Michael Vick only doing 18 months of jail time for what he was fully involved with pertaining to the dog fighting he ran with the help of friend and relatives. now the heartless man is being allowed to be reinstated in Football, and the Phil. Eagle's welcome him with open arms. i hope taht the fans there really let him have it verbally because i'm not one to promote any violence no matter what he did. well, thank you for allowing me this opportunity to get this off my chest once and for all. in closing, my only hope is that Commisioner Selig do the right and only just thing and that is to reinstate Mr. Pete Rose (my hero) so he should be put where he belongs, and that is in THE HALL OF FAME IN COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. thank you once again.

No player in the history of baseball ever played harder than Pete Rose and he should be voted into the Hall of Fame. If all the players presently in the Hall were subjected to the same scrutiny, quite possibly there would be a few vacant spots on the wall. He has certainly paid a big price for his mistakes and it is time to move on and give Pete the reward he deserves.

He ran on everything. Players today stand and watch after they hit a ball and many times are one base short of where they could have been. He should get in for his work ethic and dedication to the game.
