CAMARO all the way!!! Mustangs were out first for sure, and all that says to me is that Ford finally made a car that was a better bang per buck then the Chevy Corvair. Ralph Nader didn't know his arse from a hole in the ground when he destroyed the Corvair's reputation as a quality rear-engined small exotic sporty car. Just read about the Lee Iacoca's reasoning for Ford wanting him to come up with the Mustang in the first place. So if anybody copied off of anyone's success before, it was Ford who copied Chevy. Corvette= 1953, Corvair= 1959, Malibu high performance option= 1964, and there's plenty more great cars that Chevrolet produced that beat Ford to the punch. My dad owned a 1969 Rally Sport Camaro with a small block 350 with 425 HP (after the goodies were added to the engine courtesy of the Chevy dealership back then), and 4:11 posi traction would spank the crap out of any ford big block and certainly most mopar engines of the time. Later on my parents owned a 1987 1LE equipped 305 5 speed IROC-Z, I myself have owned a 1983 Z/28(underpowered LG4 305, but 5 speed manual nonetheless with 3:73 gearing to keep it fun) and my fast-as-hell 2001 SS Camaro 6 speed hurst short throw that would hit 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds and top out around 175 mph. Don't let the 155 mph speedometer fool you!
With that said, there will always be a Camaro in my driveway!

Also i drove a friends 2006 Gt a while ago and turned around and bought a 2011 2SS and it was the best decision i could of possibly made. I have no problems with the mustang but the camaro is a hell of a better car. More expensive yes but your driving one of the most bad ass cars on the road.. No a car that every 16yr old girl and her friends have at every Connor of every stoplight.

Hey everyone that things camaros are so cool well good for you but seriously ford has been making the mustang since 64 1/2 no brakes or nothing chevy on tho=e other hand had no good ideas so they discontunied them so they could come back and look like this big hero when really ford made a great come back with the 5.0 and didnt even have to stop making the stang sorry. i do like camraos though my moms boyfriend has a 2010 and it is a sick car for a cool guy

I worked for a very well known performance company. I was in the engineering, building, and accounting. I have been in all the cars all gens on the track. The early mustangs where pretty much the only good ones. They got pretty cheap, and turned into crap. Then again, all the muscle cars did. I agree we had to make more aftermarket parts for the mustangs because they needed it. To much twist etc.... so since our beloved muscles cars took such a dump.... I have been driving a Lexus. Well now that detroit got a clue, I went and test drove all three cars... Camaro, Challenger and Mustang. and guess what, the 2011 GT 5.0 won. Camaro has "the look" I agree. Challenger dont have what it takes. Mustang well, compaired look wise ? but the bang for you buck hell yes! It takes off so fast you feel like your going warp speen in seconds. Beefy, and solid. I got mine for 10000.00 less then i would have paid for a camaro with similar capabilities. Also, I cannot see out the back window of a camaro. Hard to see over the hood. No window space.... Yes it looks bad@ss... but its not worth stupid money for less car. Ford beat chevy this time around. I am a believer.

Don't you get tired of seeing the rear end of a Camaro each time you race one? I won't say Mustangs are awful because they are pretty nice cars, but Camaro's are better. The reason you got out of the Camaro to walk back was because you couldn't handle the power of a real muscle car.

Camaros are terrible. There is a reason Camaro was late to the muscle car party. There is a reason Camaro was killed off in 2002. They are awful cars and anyone who drives one is an awful person. A friend convinced me to drive his F-body car several years back, I drove it down the block, stopped, got out, and walked back to the house. They are just plain awful vehicles and I feel absolutely sorry for anyone who thinks otherwise.

Been Master Tech for 27 years,worked for Ford and Chevy,driven all kinds of sports cars to test for customers problems,From my experience the early Mustangs pre 73 are built pretty solid,after that their just plain old s**t,The bodies cannot handle the torque of the 5.0 even with aftermarket supports ,what a joke?The Camaros I dealt with were much more solid and could handle the power,without body twist,and the problems that came in on 99% of camaros were simple fixes,The Mustangs you better have deep pockets,Head gaskets blown regularly on the 3.8 litre worst motor I ever dealt with besides the junk Escorts,If you want to sit in your driveway and play your stereo why you wait for your new friend the tow truck driver buy a Mustang,If you want to drive while playing your stereo waiting for no one ,except maybe the officer writing you a speeding ticket buy a Camaro. .................... please the 3,8 camaros suck just as bad an lets not forget the opticrap dist . an the pos camaro dashes . the camaro rears from 83 thur 02 were junk. they break like glass . how many cross fire injected camaros still run ? you cant hear the stereo in your camaro over the damn fuel pump whine .. ive owned both an i can say a mustang will always be in my drive way

brandon, you need to read the newer one, with the 2011 Mustang and not the 2010 Mustang. The 2011 Mustang beat the Camaro in every single aspect. Also, if Motortrend was a Ford magazine, Then Ford would win COTY year after year. In fact, they dont.
Also, Ford has not copied Chevy in anyway, even if they did it wouldn't matter, cause Ford did it right. Ford probably won't do anything about the Z/28, cause the Z/28 will never happen!
Kevin, now that the mustang is out, it's nice to see that the Mustang is still affordable and outselling the Camaro.

I think you all need to grow up ! This is all a matter of opinion.I was GM for many years, now I drive a `06 GT,and had my own reason for buying it, but that doesn`t mean I hate the Camaros.We can all find good and bad in both. Fordtrend, Camaro Parformer...... Please.

Have owned three Camaro's and have loved them all. Never had any interest in the Mustang and never will. Matter of fact I have only had one Ford. My wife owned it when we got married. I sold it three months later. As far as Motortrend magazines comments- Everyone knows they have been a Ford magazine for years. They should rename it Fordtrend. Buy a man's magazine, buy Camaro Performer.

Can't believe what I hear about the mustang... Chevrolet had to show Ford how to build a muscle car. The 2010 Camaro blew away the 2010 mustang in so many categories. So what did ford do? They copied the Camaro from the hood down to the Pirelli tires. I mean a cowl induction hood, 400 hp engine, six speed, brembo brakes, etc. What's ford gonna do against the Z28. Cause the Hennessy Camaro's and Callaway Camaro's are already faster then the Shelby mustangs!!!! I remember reading a blog written about how NASCAR forced GM to sell a 427cu. engine to ford so they could learn how to make them and become more competitive!!!!

Yeah and just wait till they add the price of developing that new 5.0 to the cost of a mustang. So much for being affordable. And thats still with the ancient rear end on the mustangs. Ford is makin new engines, but everything else on them isnt keeping pace all that well.

well lets see the 2011 mustang has a 5.0 with 412 rated whp actual 435 whp and 390 ftlb tq actual 405, 0-60 4.3 sec, 12.8 sec 1/4 the camaro has a bigger engine with less power and slower times, hows that taste. check motor trend

Own a 97 z28...way better than any mustang ive test drove. Love everythig about the camaros and will never change. I like the newer models of the mustangs tho.
