I give my vote for the answer that is conveniently missing from the choices. [] Should it matter that Gov. Paterson is an African American? I'm so sick of the race card. Get a life people!!

Liberty for All is exactly right. Mark Thompson, like many liberals, are so concerned and focused about the color of someone's skin that it makes him lose credibility in every argument that he is involved in. It automatically becomes a "race" argument. I mean, does anyone know of any other talk show host or anyone of any public persona that still refers to African-American Conservatives as "Uncle Tom's"? Is this 1940 or what? It is truly laughable. It validates my conservative beliefs everytime I listen to him. So to answer the poll, Obama should worry about electing another Democrat to the job and not worrying about throwing a fellow "brother" under the bus. NOTE: Did anyone ever see a poll that asked if Bill Clinton or George Bush should throw a fellow white politician under the bus?? IT IS ABSOLUTELY LAUGHABLE THAT THOMPSON HAS HIS OWN TALK SHOW!! I BET KARL ROVE IS BEHIND IT.

5130TR, Well said, fellow RWNJ !!! Paterson is not the only liberal politician with less than a 20% approval rating at the moment. I can't wait for 2010....

And Gwen, you are too dependent on other Liberal's opinions to form one on your own. Do you even have an opinion on this other than to say "let's see what the RWNJ's say about this one"? What do you say about it? Do you think Thompson focuses too much on the color of people's skin?

Thompson's talk show has become nothing more than a daily confute of Fox News.

This was definately one of the dumber questions i've seen. I must say though Liberty for all, I wouldn't be getting too excited about 2010 if I were you. What has the Republican party done lately? As i see it it's been nothing but the usual name calling and rediculous antics. The birthers, big bad Acorn, Obama is a socialist. If you can remember these were the same pathetic attempts made last November. I personally loved the Values Voter summits new slogans. Thugocracy, really? How about the new Masculinity and feminism has wreaked havoc on marriage, children, and men. The republican party needs to understand that there has been an ideological shift in the hearts and minds of Americans and unless the party can, dare i say, evolve it will be a long time befor they every regain any power of any kind.

The elements of the Republican party that you write of are just a small part of the wave of dissatisfaction aimed at the Democrats. You really need to look at what party is motivated to get up and vote, and right now it is the Republican party. The Democrats are in a stupor wondering why they have the majority and the Presidency yet are too impotent on getting anything major passed. This can be illustrated by the lack of compassion many democrats and liberals have for the pathetic health care bills coming out of both houses of Congress and the fact that Card Check baloney made it absolutely nowhere. Gwen, still waiting for my beer, honey.

A small part 5130TR? I do not consider the Value Voters Summit a small part of the republican party. Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, Mitt Romney, and Eric Cantor all 2012 pres. canidate hopefulls and all spoke at the Summit. I will admit that some of the independant voters are moving away from the democratic party and believe me we have a few of our own who should be kicked to the curb, namley Max Baucus. He is an absolute disgrace and i have zero use for him. The polls, however, do not show that the independants are moving to the right either. Republican scare tactics may be working now but they won't hold up during the campaigns or the election. Once again you may remember last November how well they panned out. I personally loved how both Pawlenty and Jindal both bravely stated that they were cutting all state funding for Acorn. Nevermind that neither minnesota or Louisiana give any state funding to Acorn. These rediculous ploys willl not win in the end, mark my word!

Republicans will probably not win back the majority in 2010, but the polls are definitely moving in the Right direction. Many polls show Republicans and Democrats neck-and-neck, and several others show Republicans ahead. Republicans WILL make major strides in the House, and will probably get back a few senate seats as well. In fact, a Republican majority may bode well for Obama, as he can again focus on a debate with the Right, instead of having to focus all his efforts on his own party, namely Pelosi and Reid.
