i would if i was pretty or thin..

  • ManaAna - 1 year ago

i agree with a few people up there..i think itd be awesome to let the members design the t shirts and also it would need to be discrete in some way. no one in their right mind is going to wear a shirt that bluntly annouces an eating disorder. but as long as its not obvious thats what were doing, heck yeah id wear it!

  • LiLo - 1 year ago

well.. if it's just written PT on it.. it could mean anything to someone who doen't know about Pretty Tin.. so yes, i would wear it.

  • s - 1 year ago

I totally agree with the discreetness and that, then I would buy one and wear it.
Also, I think the bracelet idea is good. It could be like the rubber bands and i think it should be red because its a bold colour and if theyre all one colour, then ppl on this site can recognise others easier and they should have printed on it something like : "i support true beauty". Because nobody else will know what you see as true beauty but you will know. And you can wear them all the time so it can be constant inspo. :)

I would wear a discreet PT shirt. I love the idea of a contest and I also like the idea of one of the girls that is featured on your home page to be on the front of the shirt...you know just a small graphic of one of them. That would be kinda cool because only the people who come to this site would get it.

  • daniella - 2 years ago

I think getting red bracelets with PT on them would be cool then it is stilll secretive rather than announcing to the world I suffer from an eating disorder.

  • sammie - 2 years ago

i would love to wear it the only problem i would have is that it would have to be somthing that didnt say pretty thin on it because my mum banned me off the site and i think world war 3 would break out if i started wearing the t- shirt. but yeah apart from that its a grat idea :)

  • anika - 2 years ago

I think that I'm speaking for more than just myself when I say that I wouldn't wear it because one would bring attention and questions to myself, and I want to keep my ED a secret from as many people as I can for as long as I can.

  • DeadlyThins - 2 years ago

I think PrettyThin jewelery would be best, like braclets and necklaces cause some people like to keep it private and a shirt saying that could raise suspician, but bracelets could have small writing others would really have to focus to read or just colour coded like purple = losing weight, orange = maintaining weight, yellow = relaspe, red = ana, green = mia etc. and rainbow for just being cool =]

  • so - 2 years ago

I don't understand so many people would wear one. PrettyThin still is a site with mainly eating disordered. It is like wearing a shirt with "hey, I have an ED" on, that's the way I feel about it at least.

  • Evelynn - 2 years ago

    Oh hell yes!

  • haileybailey - 2 years ago

It would be nice to have one, but the problem I face (and many other teens living at home like me) is that it would be extremely difficult to purchase one and wear one without my parents discovering about my ED. It's a good idea, but I don't think it would work for everyone. Still, it would be cool to be able to see people on the street and realise you are connected to them. Kind of like the red bracelet project but more obvious.

  • Shar - 2 years ago

Hell yes! I would kill for a tee shirt dedicated to this site and i wouldn't care who saw it and what they had to say. But I agree with one of the other posts that you should have a contest with the best looking shirt or item.

  • kay - 2 years ago

i would wear 1 as long as it does not state the word pretty thin as i would be worried that ppl would know what i was doing and not understand i would wear it if it just said pt on it or your beautiful within things like that

  • Meagan - 2 years ago

I would buy one in support, but there is no way in hell I'd wear one if it said anything relating to ED's on it. I can't risk it:/ I like the idea of having PT hidden somewhere in the design, but it can't have any ED mantras or anything relating that people could recognize, cause I don't want to get outed. Plus, I'd be scared to advertise PrettyThin because if anyone who knew me they could go on, create a membership, and maybe find me and everything I've written, and that isn't for them to see.

  • rob - 2 years ago

I would love a red one tee with a dragonfly on or PT I love the idea of being able to wear them and everyone not knowing what it was for.

  • Georgia - 2 years ago

Not bold t-shirts because that would give away the secrecy of our little private society.
Maybe t-shirts with a cute pattern and the just 'PrettyThin' printed in swirly writing on the breast or something?
I like the idea of a bracelet.
That would be cool because nobody would know what it was,
They'd just think you had a strange bracelet but then other PT members would identify you and you could just give eachother a little secret grin and then the person you're with will be like 'whos that?' and you can just be all mysterious.
    I have a strange imagination :)

I would love to have one and wear it, a few some others have said and some personal ones. I am only 14 so therfore can not have one delievered to my house, so no way to get hold of one. Also yes it is like wearing a big label "I HAVE AN EATING DISORDER LOOK AT ME", I think something like a pattern with pretty thin written very small with in it in places. Wow I already have it all designed in my head, fail!.

It would be nice to have some kind of code. I like the PT idea. Also, I like Angelina Jolie's tattoo quote in Latin "Quod me nutrit me destruit" "What nourishes me also destroys me."
I would buy a red ana bracelet as well.

  • kit - 2 years ago

sounds like a good idea, deffinately not to be too brazen about this community or anything or people would feel too conscious about it. but other problems such as self harm have colours, orange is popular and ed's have their own colour, its blue or something, so a desgin or something which maybe only people within this community could recognise. it could be an empowering thing, i dunno, but i dont think it would be a bad idea. might be nice to be able to carry a bit of the site with us :]

  • Morgyn - 2 years ago

The fleur-de-lis in red is a great idea, id love to get that!

  • Vicky - 2 years ago

I would absolutely buy a shirt. Make more than one option though!

  • Kristen_S - 2 years ago

    I'd wear a shirt, that'd be neat!

  • Hyperbolicgirl - 2 years ago

I like the idea about having t-shirts availabe. But I agree that it should be discreet. Maybe it could say something like "The difference between want and need is self-control". I mean it doesn't have to be that, but something like that, so we all know what it means, but an outsider is clueless.

  • Galinda - 2 years ago

The red fleur-de-lis would be great!

  • Purple, - 2 years ago

I wouldnt wear it simply cause someone might catch on to my ana
    think about it.

  • Seachelle - 2 years ago

I would totally buy one and wear it. :]

  • rachelleigh - 2 years ago

i would lvoe to wear it!
buttt it will bring so much attention.

  • eponine - 2 years ago

what if we did the fleur-de-lys in red like on the top banner of the site?

  • Red.Sonja - 2 years ago

i'd love it- the disreet-ness option would make it more like the secret society that it already is. you'd only recognize it if you were in the know [and for that reason, when and if you do sell them, conceal even the link to the merch- it'd suck a lot if the design surfaced into the mainstream and then everyone knew that people wearing This shirt were part of This club...]
PLEASE let me know if and when there is a design contest-- i am an artist and already have a dozen design ideas!!! ^_^

  • strychnineapple - 2 years ago

It looks like there is INTEREST in a t-shirt idea. I think that we should look at t-shirt examples before just saying yes or no to the whole thing.

  • ToO ThIn To CaRe - 2 years ago

Ohmg I would totally wear a PrettyThin shirt but i have to agree with all of the other people on here, the shirts should be discret for all of us who don't want to brodacast their ED'S to the world but if it was discret I would without a doubt buy one and wear it! :)

  • smallhopes - 2 years ago

i think we should have a bracelet made up or something to help. that way we could wear it all the time! tht sounds awesome :)

  • Ashley - 2 years ago

well like everyone is saying it should the PT be dicreet, id totally buy one even if it said pretty thin on it.... i wouldnt wear it until i was that way and 18, but id get one..

honestly that would be a cool way to see who is a friend, i love the red bracelette thing..that would be awesome..

  • Sarah - 2 years ago

Yeah if there was a discrete option.. that just said "PT" with a nice design or something. =)

  • Smallhopes - 2 years ago

I would wear it :) i think it would be good if you had like a basic option then we could go on and write what we wanted on it or something. like the option to customise .
Having something like pictures instead of words would be good :) its not as obvious

  • leashamayx - 2 years ago

I like the idea, but I would prefer it if it were discreet. Something like "PT" on the bottom right corner of the shirt, with a red bracelet on it, or hell, even a red shirt. The colours could vary for each thing.
I also quite like the idea of "PT" being hidden inside of a design, as well as the designing contest and perhaps the top 3 get made.

  • uglyslob - 2 years ago

im not pretty or thin so i wouldnt wear it....

  • Jessica - 2 years ago

I really like the idea of the pretty thin t-shirts, the only reason why i wouldn't wear one is that i wouldn't want to a shirt that said pretty thin-it might be too much of a risk. Could it have a saying or design or something, and have pretty thin hidden inside the design/saying?

  • Emily - 2 years ago

I think it'd be amazing and I'd love to wear one but I agree with the others, you dont want to go around being like "Hey Im I support eating disorders even though they make people deathly sick!" (sorry on the bluntness there) Non the less if there were ones I would get them :)

  • sweeter|than|splenda - 2 years ago

^^^ agreed. whatever it is, it needs to be discreet. because who is going to walk around wearing a t-shirt broadcasting their ED status? certainly not me, lol.

  • eponine - 2 years ago

I definately would as long as there would be a discrete option... I've been through treatment and am trying to relapse again, and wearing a t-shirt that says "Pretty Thin" might make my parents worry... basically as long as there are options :)

  • LoveMeToMyBones - 2 years ago

I would loce to buy one to support the site, but im not sure if i could wear them...

  • anniegross - 2 years ago

i would love them, but i would suggest different types because we are not all here for the same reason.. and buying some "we are all beautiful in our own way" shirt doesnt call my attention...

maybe you can do a contest and the members can design the shirts!
