Would love to see a better coverage of new design and web tools that can boost creative work flows.

Not interested in Flash. But more so I am not interested in the annoying roundups of photos and backgrounds and things that every other blog does.

What makes me read SM and not the others is all the analysis of trends and things. The typography trend analysis was the best by far. But I'd like to see a lot more about usability.

Content design - how to make the small visual decisions (images, layout, typography) to generate particular types of audience experiences. I see the potential in providing detailed analysis of Web and print layouts to extract what contributes to the overall success (tone, action, clarity, stickiness,...).

I get lots of the bits from your blog and other places, but I still lack the ability to bring it altogether in a repeatable way

Accessibility (not the same as usability). It is the responsibility of those who build the Web to ensure that it is accessible to EVERYONE, including people with disabilities or diminished capacities. So very few blogs servicing the Web design/development community even talk about how to make websites accessible at even a basic level. Such guidelines should already be built into the design process, but most designers "assume" the unhindered physical ability of the user unless they are given a compelling reason to consider people with disabilities.

Some countries take this issue very seriously, and already have laws on the books; others are lagging behind. In any case, those who build the Web would do well to talk about, teach, and build it for ALL not because it may be the law in some places, but because it's just the right thing to do.

Id like to see some discussion development aspects like what advantages Ruby On Rails can provide, I think it would help designers if they understood a little more of the back end that we don't get the time or have the skills to play with.

One thing I don't see enough of is design articles geared towards developers. I don't just mean telling developers how not to make things look like crap either. It would be great to see articles about what makes an application pleasant to design for, or how to make things flexible (from a structure/layout perspective) so the designer can work with things without having to rip into code. This could be a great opportunity to educate us developers on what we do that frustrates designers the most.
