Do you plan to look for a new job once the economy and job market improves?

My whole department was recently layed off- outsourced to a third party that was allowed to 'recon' on the inside of our operations before they made a proposal. Naturally, we were given about 5 minutes notice before we were all let go. We know why- long term employees cost them retirements pensions, vacation, etc. No one in our shop was under 40 except one. Rather than risk an old age class action suit, they brought in the 'other guys' to offer us our jobs back at 57% of our former pay, and own us 24/7 on call for nothing. This is the new tactic of how to get around age discrimination.

Nonetheless, I told them to shove it. I also said you're not getting my many years of experience and know how for the bargain basement rate of 57%. I'm done playing the HR game of 'gotcha' and all their silly little legal no-no's.

Therefore, I will be looking to start my own business, for myself, and to hell with working for other people. You can't trust them, be they corporate or government- they will screw you over without so much as a kiss.

If I fail or succeed, at least it will be my efforts that are punished or rewarded.

I am absolutely looking to change in fact I've been looking since I got my current job. Its like employers know that times are bad so they feel that if they've given you a job that you have to take every and any kind of treatment that they dish out. And that is a terrible feeling to have going into work everyday. So to answer the question YES I'm looking to leave my current job.
