I think tthe book has appeal to people from different backgrounds as well as different genders. I think what is incredible is the manner in which each generational extension of the family had developed and yet the writer is able to connect them in a realistic manner and completely plausible for the reader.
I think that is what appeal to me, its authenticity.
I am trying to trace the publisher of "Onion Tears" by Shubnum Khan - help please

Well done Shubnum.
Good luck!
Very good! Now here is a book for the whole world.
It's rather refreshing to come accross a book that depict muslims as mere humans with human emotions and everyday problems.
I think this book will make non-muslims pack away the media induced fear and start seeing muslims in a human light :)
Then comes the very real story of the book. One warms to the characters and relate well to the situations and conditions.
Very well written with a beautifully real freshness about it.
Well done Shubnum Khan.
