I think too many Christians are uptight about Halloween. It's really about having fun and getting candy, not worshiping the devil. Sure there are costumes that are inappropriate, but there's nothing wrong with dressing up as a ninja or transformer and going to get candy. I think parent need to be wise about where their children are allowed to trick or treat and alternative parties at churches is fine, but so is the mall and local businesses that participate, etc.
My only complaint about Halloween is that overshadows Reformation Day.
