i cant believe with the unemployment numbers over there that this is happening it will turn around and bite people on the bum . the youth of aotearoa should have acsess to training schools directly targeting this industry instead of the dole so they can enter this lucrative industry give them some incentive to want to work for decent wages instead of crime and gangs if the government supports foreign fishing in our waters it must be time for new leadership a lazy government is of no use to the people of nz this is why me and thousands of other nzers have left for oz the job oppurtunities are here but not only that the youth over here have a better chance at achieving lifes goals. keep up the massive job nz fishing you have my support

We have the country we deserve.
We have become a bunch of weesle guttered bastards, dominated by the ruthless and the greedy .Successive governments have been run by brain dead politicians who couldn't find their own arse with a torch and a mirrow
While most of our people snivel and dribble in their beer about all the injutices which are being applied find me a hundred New Zealanders who are prepared to but their money where there mouth is ??

It is so had to get a shot at becoming a crew member on board a fishing vessel let alone have to compete against foreign fishers for the positions that should be k-iwi right of passage, especially in our own waters.
We do have our own waters dont we?, as so many foreign vessels seam to be so close to our shores, i.e. the russian vessels that kiwi tuna fishermen locate just 100 kms off our coast of the South Island inhope to catch the big one.

kiwis should be benefitting from there own fishing grounds on their back doorstep not foreigners. That's a no brainer! Keep up the good work Darren, we're all right behind you!
The gov’t has been pushing small independent commercial fishers out of industry for 2 decades, they just want quota royalties, and a small fleet of overseas large vessels. Far easier to manage for them.
Have a good weekend.
I’m going fishing
