i am an alumni at rham, and i am a huge supporter of the program. but I have to admit that rham does not stack up against any of these other teams. east catholic is terrible too, thats the only reason that this should be a good game. derby and ansonia are has been schools. their work rate has been terrible from what i have seen this year. north haven and cheshire are both "has-been" programs. they wont bring anything good to nbs. i think the best matchup is the northwest vs rocky hill game. northwest and rocky hill have dominated rham the last 5 years at least. those two teams have great programs and I think they would be best for nbc to air. northwest has about 600 kids from what i have read, and they easily handled new britain a few weeks ago, one of the biggest schools in the state.

I'm coming home from college in NY just for the Derby/Ansonia game. I don't care if you air the game on tv and in all honesty, I don't think the students at DHS or AHS care that much either because as far as I know, they will all be at the game anyway. I haven't experienced this game since I was an 8th grader when the "Division Street Rivalry Game" was last played. I still remember that game when they actually used to paint the arrowhead in the middle of the field. All in all somebody better keep a spot for me along the fence because I'm pretty sure the bleachers will all be packed. As the former Mayor Garofalo would say, "LET'S GO WIN BIG RED!"

I'm really hoping for the Derby/Ansonia game to get aired. The schools' rivalry has been going on for over a century and I might add Derby will not get blown out of the water, I heard they're not too bad this year. It will be a tough game and there will be so many supporters there, it would be an honor to get the valley recognized for something good for once. So I think we should all stop bashing each others towns because any of the games will be a good game to air.

I don't believe what I have seen in these posts, high levels of immaturity from what I'm assuming are adults? Calling highschool children chumps is quite unnecessary. From what I've seen, although I have not read every comment, Ansonia vs. Derby should be broadcasted due to their school spirit. This may be bias speaking since I am a senior at Ansonia highschool, but I do believe these two highschools have the most support from their small student bodies than any large school could obtain, especially with their negative attitude. However, I do wish the best to whatever team wins this opportunity, it will be a great one.

Andrew is really mistaken. Derby won and crushed many teams this year. They were also crushed. The Derby & Ansonia rivalry caused the two high schools to become friends with each other. They still have their town's pride. This game WILL be aired. These teams haven't played in a few years but they go way back since 1902. They are two of the smallest towns/school in CT but their spirit, pride, traditions, and rivalry is one of the biggest in the state!

You can't really use the argument that the NH/Cheshire rivalry has been in history for tens of years because the Derby/Ansonia rivalry dates back to 1902. The energy at that game is also very high because in the valley its not just about football, it's about respect. You can lose the game but you can play like champions and that's what it's all about. Derby as everyone knows has not been blessed with talent the passed few years but that doesn't mean it won't be an emotional, hard fought game. You can't say Ansonia is just going to roll over Derby because of Ansonia's success in the recent past. Derby has experience in a powerhouse of a conference (SCC) and will put it on the line against an NVL team that might be overhyped because they are in the, at times weaker, NVL. It will be an interesting game since the rivalry is being renewed along with both teams having good seasons thus far. All these games will be good but I am probably going to have to place my vote with the Red N' Blue Bash.

Some schools are at a disadvantage when it comes to size. However, that has little impact on the strength or ability of a good team. Schools with 2,000 - 5,000 students can have a weak to fair team, whereas a team from a small school of less than 1,000 can be at the top. Look at Northwest Catholic in West Hartford - 800 students and one of the best teams in the area.

They say one vote, not true, we caught a student who had voted 50 time on the same computer. We are in favor of a turn based system.

You can't really use the argument that the NH/Cheshire rivalry has been in history for tens of years because the Derby/Ansonia rivalry dates back to 1902. The energy at that game is also very high because in the valley its not just about football, it's about respect. You can lose the game but you can play like champions and that's what it's all about. Derby as everyone knows has not been blessed with talent the passed few years but that doesn't mean it won't be an emotional, hard fought game. You can't say Ansonia is just going to roll over Derby because of Ansonia's success in the recent past. Derby has experience in a powerhouse of a conference (SCC) and will put it on the line against an NVL team that might be overhyped because they are in the, at times weaker, NVL. It will be an interesting game since the rivalry is being renewed along with both teams having good seasons thus far. All these games will be good but I am probably going to have to place my vote with the Red N' Blue Bash.
I also agree with bobby seeing as the north haven chesite rivalry has been in the history of both tens for years even though the teams do not play on thanksgiving it always seems like the energy and the thanksgiving day crowd and feeling is at the game whenever and where ever these teams meet
honestly, not just because im from north haven, but because i know north haven and cheshire is going to be the best game, channel 3 should air this game and show much of it big time. cheshire and north haven is a huge rivalry, and this game dependss on the playoffs for both. Derby is going to get beat terribly, while the other 2 games just wont be as good because the best teams exist within the SCC
Some schools are at a disadvantage when it comes to size. However, that has little impact on the strength or ability of a good team. Schools with 2,000 - 5,000 students can have a weak to fair team, whereas a team from a small school of less than 1,000 can be at the top. Look at Northwest Catholic in West Hartford - 800 students and one of the best teams in the area.
I agree that some schools are at a disadvantage. Some schools have more than 2000 students, some much much less. So when they vote it's an easy win. Allot of schools cheat on the voting. They say one vote, not true, we caught a student who had voted 50 time on the same computer. We are in favor of a turn based system.
Don't you think the poll is a little invalid seeing how the Derby/Ansonia game consists of two of the smallest teams/cities/schools in the entire state but was and still is one of the greatest rivalries in CT?
