I have one question that I would like to throw out there for all to chew on, if you died right here and now, and stood before God, and He asked you, "Why should I allow you into heaven, on what grounds show you be allowed entry?" What would be your response? If you cannot answer this question without using "I" or "me", you are in trouble.

I am one of the two who voted "I don't know. I guess I'll find out when the time comes". My answer was prompted by the fact that I do not belong to any formal religion though I am not an atheist. My discovery of this website came as a result of following a couple of links from a rebuttal of Dawkins' "The God Delusion". Despite being a non-Christian, I have read quite a bit of the bible as the result of doing my mother's bible study homework for her, which I suppose racks up some metaphysical points for filial piety in someone's ledger. I was intrigued by the google ad in one of the sidebars questioning if Texas preaching had biblical foundation as I was not aware that Texas had its own theology. As a native Texan, it would have come as no great surprise if it did. Through my bible studies, I knew that popular notions and interpretations of biblical teaching were often at wide variance with what the actual text read, even after comparing several translations and exegesis. Although mentally stimulating by way of literary, historical, archaeological and philosophical comparison, nothing I have read so far has tempted me to reconsider my rejection of Salvationist theology in particular and Judeo-Christianity in general. Neither has it led me to embrace any alternative religious system. However, as an examination of social manipulation of belief, it has been most illuminating and more than a little entertaining.

RECORDED IN HEBREWS CHAPTER 5 VERSE 9 READS [ AND BEING MADE PERFECT HE BECAME THE AUTHOR OF ETERNAL SALVATION UNTO ALL THAT OBEY HIM. ] AND IN 2ND THESSALONIANS CHAPTER 1 VERSE 8 READS [ IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON THEM THAT KNOW NOT GOD AND [ THAT OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST]. WITHOUT OBEYING JESUS CHRIST ONE CANNOT BE SAVED.

Of course those who have voted know which one they were supposed to click. Do these same people actually examine themselves to see if they are still following hard after Christ? I guess only time will tell.
