Far too many tweets now. 5-6 max of highest quality tweets per day would be much nicer. I don't have the time to look at and read 30 links from SM every day along with the rest of the twitterers and websites I follow. Everything being tweeted seems to be fairly good and interests me, but at some point it just becomes tiring when you want to spend 2-3 hours every day reading all of SM's tweeted links :-) Maybe start a couple of twitter accounts. One for a constant stream of tweets, one for those of us who only want a couple of links a day.
I like the quality of the tweets. They are useful and I appreciate them. However the sheer number is overwhelming. Less is more in my opinion.

I've noticed more re-tweeting(lots without tagging the original tweet) of things I already have from following other sources...
Also I've seen some repeats within 24 hours. Thats fairly annoying, and it makes it seem like you've forgotten you've already posted that item or something.
It just feels like it means less when I see the massive amounts of tweets coming through and I've been debating stopping my follow of the account for a couple of days and just following your RSS through Google Reader since I'm already seeing a lot of these.
I know you've got a lot to share, but why not try hootsuite (or similar) to schedule your tweets and queue up your posts so you don't exceed a certain amount a day?
I agree less is more... but your posts are entertaining and useful. As an instructor, I appreciate your exploration... helps me stay current. The retweets of the same posts drive me crazy but yours seem to be first finds.
Twitter caps the number of tweets you can keep. But i've noticed that tweetdeck keeps a history of tweets. I set up something similar on a customer's site using the twitter api. So that's a way to keep those precious links. @Smashing: So far the quality of the resources has been good. Just drop the frequency again when that is no longer the case. One bad link negates the effect of goodwill you are achieving.
A lot of nice links but there should be some kind of list with categories where all these links can be found with their explanation somewhere on the Smashing Magazine website. Can't bookmark all!

Personally I feel a little overloaded by all the tweets from SM lately. I value your opinion and like to read, but the recent influx of material has me buried in things I want to read with more coming far too often. Slow the flow a bit fella's, let the goodness soak in before another heaping spoonful of goodness.

The problem is that there's a lot of noise on the web.
The old adage, "Quality over Quantity", could well be relevant here.
That said, if the resources exist, someone has to share them to let the community determine their usefulness.
It's great being given so many resources to check out, I just wish I had the time to go through them all. My list of bookmarked pages is getting increasingly longer...
Now, I like. Because i like "What happening right now, not What are you doing" ;) This make different and i'ts much better with useful links and informations...

Other than that I love to smash every day!
less is more, yeah
too many tweets

Thanks.
You can count me in as one who finds your tweets excellent, but too many to read.

I respect what are you doing but it's just way too much information for me to digest...
as they say, "Quality over Quantity."
More than 8 tweets per day would be a little overcrowded. Coz apart from SM people do follow lots of other profile's too.
I haven't noticed any change from the SM's tweet (to be frank).
Like the way how SM's tweeting now.
I come to you for curating and collecting the best. So more tweets feels more automated and less considered.
less is more

i dont like it. i rather get the new tweets from another twitter account, dunno, something like @SMreccomends or whatever
same as john robinson said... i think it's great, but will never make it to keep up with all that good stuff.

It's good. I think about 20-30 tweets per day is great for SM.
Too many tweets in my opinion. less would be more!
