    Dea Climate Board Partners,

Please allow me to appreciate the Polldaddy blog.

My name is Grace Mulei from Kenya.

I am interested in climate change resolution strategies. The issue of global warming and climate change has affected all nations. All humans have contributed to the emission of greenhouse gas emission. I would like to involve the vulnerable women in clean development mechanism project.

    Please view my project abstract.

    Thank you very much.

    Grace.

    Global Problems/ Global Resolutions.

The developing countries women are shouldered with the responsibility of providing for basic needs even at this time of drastic climate changes. They have o source for cooking fuel, water, sustain agricultural produce and ensure food security for the family and the nation as a whole.

Their efforts are challenged by climate change impact, that include floods prolonged drought, unexpected weather changes soil erosion environment degradation, and communicable diseases. The effects impede women exposure to information about global conventions necessary for inclusive involvement. Environment depletion ruins geographical infrastructures, and assets that support social economic reliabilities.

The impact of climate change continues to promote social economic deprivation to women and children. They are subjected to prostitution, child trafficking, child exploitation and sexual abuse.

According to Daily Nation News paper, dated November 2/ 2009, over 12,660 school girls are forced in compromised sexual abuse. Poor parents indulge in child trafficking and are paid off by the offenders who happen to be people on pay slips.

The women have no access to information about their security and legal protection rights. They have no information about the climate change global conventions, and therefore unable to mitigate about the effects impact.

Although the governments have environment protection policies, including human rights and social issues statutes, women and children fall pray of the impact.

Although the United Nations Framework on Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has provided the strategic plans and guidelines for addressing the climate change, only the parliamentarians are exposed to the information.

As the prolonged droughts, drastic weather changes that include floods continue to strike, women are subjected to a life cycle of relief food aid dependency. The current social economic crisis, coupled by political violence events, demand sustainable resolutions for women; if they are to survive.

The climate change policy to Reduce Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) can serve for Women & Children Climate Change Resolutions (WCCCR). Women can find sustainable social economic opportunities to live respectable lives. The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) can also provide technical training venues that cause women to contribute to this Decade of Education For Sustainable Development (DESD) by 2014. The women have only four years to go! Their inclusion would enable them to participate in greenhouse gas (GHG) cuts BY 7% BY 2012. They only have two years to go! We have already identified a peace of land for this project.

Salvage Programs aims to engage women in a REDD project for achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. We only have five years to go.

Right now the world public do not have a broadcasting network to engage all people in learning about and solving issues. We need a world public broadcasting network (think of PBS in the United States, but for the world) associated with the U.N. accessible to all people. It would include TV, radio and web access. It would broadcast in every country. Every person could engage in the conversation, offering their knowledge to make shared plans. Known solutions could be discussed and implemented globally if the U.N. had an international public broadcasting system.

I have developed a training program for local officials to use free software to develop an asset management program for small utilities such as water & waste water systems. The Outreach I provide to local officials assist in meeting the EPA Sustainability goals for infrastructure. I would be willing to donate my time to train local officials in Haiti on doing inventory work and initiating asset management in order to maintain their current and updated infrastructure from the international help. I am 56 years old- Male- and only speak English. I have a son-in-law from Rwanda who speaks French fluently that I might be able to convince to assist me in doing local trainings of local officials in Haiti. I think November or December would be the best timing and allow me to plan my vacation accordingly. You can reach me at 814-282-4043 to discuss relevance of my offer.
My training can be focused on operator - manager - or governing board in order to build capacity of sustainable management of community assets (not just water & waste water). The EPA CUPSS software tool is free but in in english only. My RCAP spreadsheet tool can be adapted to French prior to my training.
Good Luck! on the Early stages of disaster relief. I think Ted Turner is a true hero!
