Also, she wanted Yarmuth to extend the benefits and THEN also put in the bill to inform people when they would be running out. So she obviously just wanted the free money from the people that actually WORK for a living and be a freeloader! Julie and Craig, you should have also asked Yarmuth about this as well and asked him if it's in the spirit of the benefit - This is not what the benefit is for!

On your show yesterday, the first woman, Pam, called in asking John Yarmuth why they don't give notice that her unemployment is running out so she can "find a job." Craig and Julie, why didn't you question her further and inform her that unemployment benefits are not there instead of a job, but to help as one looks for empoyment! She is not using the benefit as it is intended. I'm afraid there are many like her. This is the exact situation that some in congress are failing to acknowledge is happening.
I cannot believe men like this believe the recession is over. I am a well respected politician and I believe in the future of the American Convention.

According the National Bureau of Economic Research, "A recession is a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP."
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis indicates that the recession ended around the 3rd quarter of 2009. This is likely because, Real GDP increased in the 3rd & 4th quarter of 2009 at 2.13%.
It will probably take several months before the economy completely turns around and employment improves but things are certainly on an upward trend since the trough.
