I was thinking same.. good conclusion Richard... however I feel that TRUE, Honest FAITH to God (I am Christian) even with our weakness can reduce a lot lying in general.
Honesty is sadly rare in these days... and lying is the common... maybe our nature is build on lying and deception. Lying can also hide weakness.. it is not always because of hypocrisy.
