Which Approach Is More Biblical?

Both approaches are biblical but I prefer the 1st for CRUCIAL decision matters simply because God guides / answers prayers when we ask according to his principles. That is, after doing all we can to ensure we have not violated his expressed will (word) we can rely on Him to assist after prayer on making a better decision than we would otherwise do solely by relying on our own abilities -See Psalms 25:12, 37:23, Jeremiah 10:23, 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:5

E.g. Selecting: a wife for Isaac - Gen 24, the true mother of living child by Solomon -1 Kings 3, Christ's apostles - Luke 6:12-13/Acts 1:15-26, Elders for a church -Acts 14:23

Commiting travel / carreer plans, etc. to him -James 4:13-15

    2nd approach: Ephesians 5: 15-20

15Be very careful, then, how you liveā€”not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Actually, I believe both approaches are biblical and that a combination of both is ideal and useful. A naturalist, intellectual-rational, orthodoxy, scholastical approach to Christianity (Aquinas?) will probably want to rely on Approach Two. A supernaturalist, life-experience, inspirational, orthopraxy, more mystical approach to Christianity (a Kempis?) would probably rely more on Approach One.
