A blog about English Premiership side Arsenal coached by Arsene Wenger. Objective analysis of matches, news from the press, views, player ratings and videos on the likes of Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas, English striker Theo Walcott and the Mexican wonder Carlos Vela.
Your survey should have included an option to sign new players during the Summer. Yes wse need a new Keeper AND another striker AND additional defensive cover both at the back and midfield.
But January's not the time to buy them. The options available are simply not there in January and buying just to pleased the unwashed masses would be stupid and if Arsene's anything he's certainly not stupid. Disappointing to be in the position we're in at this stage but all is not lost and there's a lot of football to be played before we write off 2010.
For sure we must make significant additions to the senior squad in the Summer.

he has lost touch he is no longer the same manager he was.
i dont believe he will sign a new contractor, thats why he is not bothering about his job any more. he can be fired at any given time.
he is busy keeping only french players, iam afraid this might be end of jack whilshere.how can you realease senderos and leave sylivester??????????.
that utterly rubbish, the man must go to the nearest hell and hang himself.
he doesnt have the interest of fans at heart.i wish he can go before he can swallow his legacy like mugabe.

It was the right thing to do, as they obviously didn't find anyone who is quality, reasonable value and not cup-tied, not to mention fits into the team from literally the very first game. Are you that surprised? It's a world cup year, Van Persie's back in 5 weeks, You would be ousting Bendtner before he even gets a crack at playing striker and had we won the United game, nobody would be moaning this much... Learn to be rational, we can still win the league, we needed 7 points out of 12, the most important being Man U, and Chelsea but a win against either is fine. If we get 1- 4 points, then we have a big problem.

I am rather upset with the complete lack of transfers in. Losing utterly to Man U. showed that our boys, when they do not find their rhythm, are simply not on the same level as the big guns. Andrei, at approx. 1m tall, has absolutely no chance of winning headers over most EPL defenders (often from poorly-aimed Sagna crosses, no less); returning Nick offers a physical dimension but he as of yet remains entirely inconsistent with finishes, Dudu's got 3 in 18 and is now out for who knows how long, RVP will be fit by 2021 at the earliest, and Denilson brings little to the table offensively and defensively. At the back, Almunia looks shaky sometimes. Nonetheless, I think bulking up in front at all would've been preferred over spending on a 'better' new keeper. I am slightly worried that no one has been brought in to add something new to the front. However, I think the squad, as it stands today, is still capable of winning some hardware, when it synergistically connects (as has done from time to time). The doggedly solid performances of Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, and Song (thank goodness he's back), and the commanding persistence Cesc all can make our team formidable. When the squad connects, they play beautiful football.
