The original design has more character, but needs to be updated. The new designs look "generic", but #8 is the best of them. Need to mention "Cow Harbor" in addition to Northport or it looks like the school team. How about a design competition-winner gets free sign-up for the season.

Our logo should represent our club , community and the area where we live. It seems we are trying to copy or resemble Npt. Lax , Npt Football , Npt High School or MLS designs. Its a shame we don't want to be creative and have our own unique logo to represent our club.
Besides our existing logo , #3 and #8 would be nice if we can make them our own.
I would like to see what the logo"s look like on the jerseys . I also like yellow instead of gold.

Please stay with the original logo as it does represent the history of the club.

The one we have now is great. New Logos = New Uniforms = More $

The original is still the best by far....

I agree with Jim Starin. Why change?

I like the first one the most. I don't think the others would look that good on the unforms. I hope 1 wins!

I think I like either #1 or #8 but you would have to pick one that you like and wouldnt get sick of.

I like the idea of a new logo, and I think Northport and Cow Harbor need to have equal weight, otherwise it looks like Northport is the club name and Cow Harbor is a team name. Like New York (Jets, Giants, etc.).
I don't agree with a capital N in the logo, as that seems like a start to draw an affilation with the school district.. I think the gold may do that as well. Although, I don't know what the HS school colors are. The kids that are not from the Northport district may not like wearing something from a "rival" school.
I understand these were made by Eurosport, they sell clothing - not design logos. Let's spend some money on a real design firm. This should last for the next 20 years and really represent the club. I also disagree on putting it out to vote to the masses, the board represents the club, they should decide.

Agree with Jon S that the patch should be creative in design (like Liverpool FC or other European teams have) and represent the town/club history. Most of the other patches have an MLS look to it...and we don't want that!
Renaming the complex to Anfield. Don't think so. However, the "Theater of Dreams" has a nice ring to it. :)
Patrick McNelis - 2 years ago
Given these choices the original patch is BY FAR the best. The others have the look of some MLS franchise.
The original has detail and says something about the area. Much the same way the patches of the great European teams do...as someone pointed out above re: Liverpool FC. However, our club should have no association with those Scousers. On the other hand...we could rename the soccer park...the "Theater of Dreams" :)
Jim Starin - 2 years ago
Why change, none of these patches are a step forward. I vote for staying with the traditional logo that represents the history of the club.
Jack Wetzel - 2 years ago
got any other patches? These patches are too bland. Could you make something like the Syosset patches?
PCA;
I like that they all have the word Northport.
Blue is a good color.
The balls are a great idea and being the right shape show that we are dealing with soccer.
The spelling on the patches is excellent....
Coaching points;
Our original looks more creative. The new shield outline is a good plan but their content looks like a flat back four / basic / the same / affordable.
Tactics;
Colors - Patriotic - red, white and blue only.
Add a motto (no Latin please), add the words Northport, add the word "soccer" only if we have to, add a picture/emblem and add the year showing when the club was established.
Game Day Formation;
------------------------
Example ; http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/
Change the motto, swap the name for Northport, make the red blue, change the word football to United, change the word club to SC (or FC if you can) and make the animal (Liver Bird) a Red Hawk, red chimneys or a ship picture symbolic incumbent to Northport, and change the date "EST-1892" to show the tradition / clubs history.
Post Game Comments.

Change the uniform to Red and rename the stacks complex to Anfield.

Both of my kids like the original patch. I personally think the new designs are too far off from the original. Maybe if you updated the old patch with better graphics, you'd modernize it enough yet keep the tradition.
Bill Buitenkant - 2 years ago
I like #8's simple and colorful design. It includes the Cow Harbor part of the name so that it maintains uniqueness from the other Northport Soccer club. I also like the removal of the word United from the logo as that always seemed like a copy of a English team club. The old logo was too busy with all the pictures.
Cathleen Contino - 2 years ago
I like #3's bold colors and the capitol 'N" wit "Cow Harbor" thru it - but I don't like that there is not a picture of a whole soccer ball on it....if we could take off the partial ball on bottom and put a smaller embroidering of a whole ball I think it would look better...or just change the shape of the patch and make it a more rounded bottom to accommodate a whole ball.....just a thought
Jamie Grossman - 2 years ago
I think the club should have given the kids a chance to submit the logo as a contest.
Debbie Walley - 2 years ago
The nice thing about the original logo is that it tells a story about the community. If you kept some of that theme, but executed the art and typography with more sophisticated graphics, that would be the best solution. These new logos are all missing the essence of where the Npt soccer complex is located. I feel it is important to specify more of the full name in the logo as well. I think the word "United" is a powerful word visually and shouldn't be forgotten. #1 has potential, but the lines on the bottom look urban to me (skyline/buildings). If the lines were replaced with maybe the boat/water/horizon graphic that would bring it back on track.

I also vote to stay with the traditional logo as it represents the history of the club.....but the kids like #4...
