What do you think Hotaru revealed to Utakata?

It is probably a seal of some kind, perhaps one used to seal the jutsu she protects into her body.

Perhaps it is scarring, maybe as a result of the spite of some angry villagers.

It's a tattoo of Utakata. Sometimes fangirls go too far. <_<

Nah, it's just Hotaru being a bit overly revealing. Utakata is simply too flabbergasted to make sense.
