I asked earlier in the year how many people had been prosecuted for dropping cigarette ends - answer - none. To be effective it's not good enough to have poster campaigns - laws have to be enforced - and be seen to be enforced by publishing names of miscreants

Similar notices have been around Bristol since before I gave up smoking and I believe they have ZERO effect - except for to cost council tax payers much money. I would guess that the revenue earned from the £75 fines has not covered the cost.
