Dara has spent 90% of her life in water and barefoot or in flats. She requested a 1 inch heel and they gave her 3..she just had major knee surgery less than 4 months ago. There's no way they should have expected her to try and walk in heels and risk either putting too much pressure on her knee or falling. She looked a lot more natural than all the other women trying to walk in heels and I guarantee that her feet were the happiest ones there. And by the way, she has won 12 medals, not 9!
