Where do you believe the next round of cuts in the state budget should be made?

We Missourians have become so accustomed to ignoring public funding needs until crises arise that we know no other way. Essentially all our truly necessary public services; education, safety, infrastructure are historically underfunded. If MO is to ever move beyond crisis funding we must increase basic tax revenues. Whether by simply increasing income tax and real estate tax rates or some radical revamping of how we tax, we must, if we really care, be willing to provide local and state government with increased revenues. This can be done at the same time as insisting on increasingly effective and efficient government but underfunding remains the absolute core problem.

Too much state government spending on too many pet projects. Borrowing money from the Fed helps nothing either, just increases the pain for later. I know A LOT of state workers that do little to nothing and if in the private sector would be laid off rather quickly. Time for across the board cuts to every department and tighten the belt. The best way to stimulate jobs is to get the manufacturers into this state. Getting the sales tax resolution through is a good start, but you have to go to the people and let them know this as there is a lot of opposition form the left and big tax lobbyist. It is your job to gain the respect of the people and get this issue put to bed. The sales tax idea is the best idea that any democrat ever had and it should be accepted by both parties equally!!!

There is plenty of 'pork' to be cut and you had better be doing that before ANY consideration of raising any further revenue.
Get transparent and if you can not find the pork - we will address it for you.
