I've actually written four novels and have submitted the fourth to a regional publisher that I think will take it. In the mid-80's the publishing world was much different. i sent out queries, obtained an agent in NY, met him, and he placed me at MacMillian Pub. The new editor worked with me but chose not to buy the story. I should have worked futher with her, however my mother died and my wife and second child almost died in childbirth--I became quite busy for years. I think my experience then and today and the value of writing several books until you get one that seems good enough would be interesting to other authors and maybe encouraging also.
