It's time for Arizona and the nation to be rid of this ill-tempered publicity hound. He calls himself a conservative in election years.

John McCain is a good man, a good veterans and I love him as a soldier would love another soldier, leave no one behind, However Veterans are still waiting for there appeals after eight years, Purple Hearts are not approved unless medical documentation, but if a soldier is blowen up in a humvee in Iraq, and the Commander rotates back to the states without doing the paperwork, the soldier is stuck in the paperwork, My letters and other soldiers letters to John McCain are a continued unanswered, I feel its time for John McCain to go, JD IS THE NEW MAN ON THE BLOCK. Would love a new choice over McCain. Can't support Haywoth until he talks about what a huge spender he was the last time he sat in DC. Have emailed him many times requesting him to talk about this and how and why we should trust him to do differently. I would like to see all the "good ole boys" go...We need some real business people who have some actual common sense...and know how to count.
Anyone (McCain) that puts his arms around Teddy (I can swim, she can't )Kennedy and pushes amnesty for the invasion of wetback...........has to go!!!
Not no, but HELL NO amnesty, period.

We must get involved to remove McCain... let's take a look, pick a candidate, and get to work. After such a failed campaign against Obama and so many years of mistakes, the fact that he hasn't retired to make room for someone fresh with new ideas... well, what do you think? I think it's also so important to send a message to establishment republicans and democrats alike that someone like McCain or Kennedy won't be spared. The message that we won't follow anyone blindly, like Gov. Palin (important voice) is needed as well.

I remember seeing the pictures of McCain and Kennedy side by side when they were trying to shove thru amnesty AND I remember what McCain said of us that opposed this amnesty. McCain makes me puke, I wouldn't vote for this jerk for dog catcher.
I read enough about JD Hayworth when I lived outside of Yuma and he is the man to vote for. You won't see him up there smiling with Harry Reid looking to award lawbreakers with citizenship!!

May God bless John McCain for his service and suffering as a POW in the 'Nam but the time has come for him to head to the barn and enjoy the family.
He is not a conservative and face it, He's too old.
The Tea Party cannot be a 3rd party because that is exactly what the DemoRats want. Do you people not understand this? So why not quietly yet aggressively envelop the current Republican Party and fill the leadership ranks with Tea Party members squeezing out the Progressives? This logically appears to be a more secure plan.

I would support McCain if he were to change his mind on immigration. I doubt I would ever vote third party. That just seems to give the liberals more power when the votes are split. jmo

While I used to like McCain, and he is still an honerable man; he is a progressive. We need to purge the progressives out of the Republican party.
They are a virus, and we need to shine a light on them when we find them. If you don't understand what a progressive is, you need to learn quick. They are a step away from socialsm.

There appears to be a simple solution to this dilemma. As patriots we have learned that it is the progressive ideology whice has brought our great nation to the edge of the precipice. We can no longer permit progressives to drive our ship of state. Therefore, if a candidate has shown any progressive tendencies, they must be removed. Even if it costs constitutionalism an office here and there, by and large patriotism will prevail! We must embrace the truth! laser12

McCain is a RINO and a cad. Hayworth is a big spender, but is better than Mac.
In response to the comments I have read that call McCain a cconservative.
He is not a conservative. He is a Progressive.
The two do not mix. He calls himself a Progressive conservative.
That is like saying I am a 5'3" Giant of a man. Maybe in my mind I am a giant but, to everyone else, the truth is obvious.
No more Progressives. We have had our fill of them and their aims to be our daddys. I don't know about everyone else but I don't really need a daddy.

I was in Phoenix in November visiting my brother. We went to the Arizona State Fair where the Republican Party had a booth. I spoke to them about McCain and who if anyone would be opposing him. None of the five people in the booth were McCain supporters. They felt he had betrayed conservative republican principles. They were trying to get J. D. Hayworth to run. I found this quite interesting. Not one of those people in that booth was supporting McCain. I think Tea Party support should go to J.D. The Establishment is supporting McCain. Bill Bennett took a cheap shot at J.D. on his show yesterday re: his socalled problems with the Abramoff (sp?) scandal from which he has been exonerated. This is the worst form of Republican Cronyism. I say we give this our best shot. RETIRE JOHN MCCAIN!!!!

Getting rid of the RINOs is one of the priorities we TEA bodies need to act on: to restore the Republican Party as a patriot cause founded on defending and advancing the Constitutional Republic. The GOP should be dedicated to restoring the great realm of liberty that used to be before the U.S Supreme Court abdicated its function to limit federal legislative powers in their Carolene Products decision circa 1936.
We should find legislators and other leaders to challenge the body of legislation since Carolene Products, and certain items before, plus advance certain Constitutional amendments as has been discussed in the movement.
One thing TEA bodies should avoid is political consultants who would bastardize the movement and morph it into the same old political pond scum we're trying to clean up.
Cheers, and blessings!

From what I read on JD Hayworth he is a great conservative, pro life, involved in the fight against illegal immigration, and was not for the bailouts unlike John McCain. We need someone out there that wants to put a stop to gov't. over spending, and get the economy going in the right direction. I'm for JD but I hope we don't find any skeletons in his closet.
As for Sara Palin I believe she is making a big mistake by supporting John Mc Cain. As a TPP , I see her supporting a man that has voted for the bailouts, and that's not fiscal responsibility, and isn't that what we want. My belief is she would make a great Senator but I don't want to see,her run for President. We need a stronger canidate that can get some of the moderate/independent Democrate voters.
In a heartbeat !!
Now, McCain puts through a bill requiring prescriptions for Vitamins?!?

I don't look at the Tea Party as a 3rd party that could have any success. I look at us as a vetting group that can perform the function of checking these folks out and holding them, as much as we can, to their promises. We have power this way. A 3rd party won't work, in my opinion.

Most of us voted for McCain for two reasons. Number 1 is that he wasn't Obama. Number 2 is that Sarah Palin was on the ticket. Like me I think a bunch of us just held our noses when we pressed the ballot for McCain because there was no other choice at the time. Does McCain fall in line with our ideals and principals? Short answer is no. He panders and compromises too much. He, in my opinion, is just another one of the career politicians that has purchased his long political career with our freedom and liberties. The message we need to send is for the republicans and the democrats to hear. I say we thank him for his service and politely show him the door.

Hayworth is part "Liberty Hawk" and part "bulldog". McCain is a great patriot. but no more solid on national security issues than Hayworth. BUT, Hayworth would be a better choice for getting the illegal immigrant situation resolved.
McCain has dropped the ball on this issue.
Hayworth would probably be a leader on returning congress to the issue of getting the people's business done, not a political party compromise. McCain hasn't gotten this done yet!
While we couldn't lose with either man as a Senator,
I say time for a fresh choice, a new "gun"!

In 2001 a petition circulated in Arizona to recall Senator John McCain. It appeared to be well received. Then 9/11 happened. The sponsors withdrew the petition, believing the welfare of the United States was a larger priority at that time.
I think McCain actually believes he has a mandate from the voters of Arizona. His beliefs do not reflect those of Arizona conservatives I know.

I definitely echo Glenn Koons' comments. It will be much easier to bring McCain closest to our values than the Lib Democrat who will surely be elected in this process. McCain has always shown a willingness to listen. The Dem status quo will never.

John McCain is a great patriot however in this conservative of conservative states he has lost touch with the people and what they believe in. We've seen it time and time again, elections are held and candidates say all the right things ... until they get in office. With the next big issue that the present administration will push, immigration, Arizona needs someone that will speak for us on this divisive problem and McCain is just not that person.

Doug Pettit has a good point. Should we waste our resources on Hayworth? I was in that space on the Brown race. Still not sure exactly how much of a victory that was in the long term. Doubt Brown will support the TP in any way shape or form.
Ousting McCain is a worthy cause. But if Hayworth has no shot at actually winning is there anything to be gained.
My answer is that sometimes you fight even though you know you have little chance of winning. If you do manage to win the victory will be so much more important and send a much more powerful message to DC elitists.
So giving this a shot should be considered.

McCain must go. If Hayworth is the tool to oust McCain then we should use him. Hayworth couldn't be much worse and it is very unlikely anyone else has a shot.
But... fundamentally I strongly feel our ultimate goal should be 3rd party. We just need to start with local and state elections and then move up to national elections after we have some wins under the belt.
For now... it seems the wisest short term choice is to oust the really bad leaders any way we can. McCain fits into that must go catagory.

Hayworth in, McCain out! Everyone would see that we REALLY mean business with these republicans and what we expect of our party! Plus it would show everyone that Sarah Palin is not our spokesperson, and that NOTHING and NOBODY will influence or change our mission of voting fiscally conservative, constitution respecting, freedom loving Americans into office.
I do not have enough information on Hayworth to say I prefer him. I will do some studying. I do know that John McCain is too close the isle for me. I think he will sell out easily. I did not like his campaign for President and apparantly a lot of others didn't either. We need to change out the old guard and get better candidates involved. I asked my self last Presidential race, "is this the best the Republican Party has to offer." I would say the same for the Senate seat in Arizona.

I am a Tea Party supporter and do not believe the Tea Party element should split as a 3rd Party. In this race in particular, I am torn. I have not had a lot of time to do research on Hayworth, but I do not like McCain...didn't like him as the GOP Presidential candidate, disagree with most of his positions as a Senator and don't care for his support of Crist here in Florida. I'm a Rubio guy. Two of the radio personalities that I liston to to help develop my opinions, Mark Levine and Bill Bennett, are split on this. Levine supports Hayworth and makes a lot of good points in his favor. Bennett, who knows and has worked with Hayworth, does not support him, although he also does not support McCain. Apparently Hayworth has some real problems that might be hard to push through an election.

The poll os too one sided. Who are the other canidates. Hayworth was sweep into office in the House in 1994 along with many other Republicans but could not retain his seat. Then the book he wrote was a flop. I question if he can get state support with or without tea party interference. Who else is running, what is their background and talking points? McCain may have lost his glitter but he is a conservative even though his wings are singed for flying too close to the sun. If we back the wrong person, we loose the seat to a liberal.
