I highly support use of Emails in job application as it is very a convenient way and at most we should adopt new way of doing things. I don't expect how our grand fathers used to do things for us to do the same, Instead we should adopt this new methods like emails and go digital. This approach caters for both introverts& extroverts people in our society and therefore I have very concrete reason to stand by it.

Presenting cv's online is the best method,it's more cheaper, accessible and secure .Hope every employer will impress this kind of communication
Presenting it in person is ok but at times makes it look like u dont follow simple advertisement instruction. when its said either "post it or mail it', the number of options remain two.
Posting may not be very convenient as it delays or not even being collected eventually, depending on volume of incoming applications from alternative routes. Courier services are very convenient but quite expensive.
Mailing is therefore the best, as long as the e-mail address is correct, not blocked, receipient inbox is not full and probably allocable document upload capacity is not too restricted.
I prefer taking it in person.
