I can't walk to work because I am retired. My volunteer "job" is 23 miles away. I do, however, drive a Honda Insight (over 40 mpg). What about taking bags to the store? Target actually gives a $.05 discount per bag when you bring in your own bags. I am replacing appliances with energy star. I run my dryer on the energy saver setting and then hang the clothes to finish drying. We aren't allowed to have clotheslines and in Ohio you can't hang clothes out in the winter! I combine trips and errands. Anyway, your poll really didn't even get the tip of the iceberg. And, please, Walmart treats their employees terribly so be very careful that you are not encouraging people to shop there.
We've been doing some of these things are whole life and others for at least two years. They need to add things like hanging clothes out on a line, planting a produce garden and talking with neighbors about doing the same!
