I agree with someone's comment above that it feels like a step backwards. It's a strange choice I'd say, especially in the middle of a chapter.
It may not be the sort of thing that you notice immediately, but I did notice something had changed to reduce (imo) the overall aesthetic appeal of the page.

You guys seriously care that she changed the colour of the outlines? :/ the chance is so minimal you cant notice it till its pointed out and her art is still FANTASTIC.
you guys seriously just need to relax and go with the flow.

I had noticed that something was different, but couldn't put my finger on it until I'd flipped a few pages back. The characters seem to pop a little more with the black outlines, but I agree that they look flatter. The colored outlines are a little more natural and let you see the character more than the edges. However, as has been pointed out, if this many people didn't notice and it's easier for you or you like it better, than it may be a fine change to make.

not a fan of the black lines, they make everything look "flat." Still, it's not soooo drastic that I'm going to throw a hissyfit over it. I can deal.

is it the shine? I think the characters used to shine and they don't really do that anymore; less shadow...

I don't care much for the black outlines. Like what was already said, it makes things more flat looking. More 'cartoony'.
It's the art that draws me first into a comic, then the story , it was one reason why I didn't care much for earthsong until the remake. The black outlines feel like astep backwards, and to change it like such in the middle a chapter is to drastic a change. And thinking of it on a printed scale (something I was hopeful for sense I bought the first book) the black lines would stick out like a sore thumb compaired to other pages.
So not, I'm not fond of the black lines. :(

yeah, i noticed the lines weren't colored from the first page it happened. in truth, it doesn't look bad, but it's not as good as the colored lines. the black lines seem to flatten everything. OTOH since most people didn't seem to notice and i'm simply a famous picker of nits, keep on keepin' on!

I posted this in the forums too, but here's my theory (in case anyone doesn't read the forums...)
I notice that early pages (up until right around the start of Vol. 3) had very distinct and separate panels, usually with a prevailing black background. Some panels overlapped from time to time, true.
So, the change seems to be this: in more recent strips, the background is often a panel by itself with other panels layered over it. The background panel's main action is always a part of the page, usually at the top or the bottom. I think this gives a lot of ambiance to the comic! With newer pages, it feels more like being in the area with the characters, watching the battle as opposed to just watching the battle on a TV set.

The only thing I noticed really is that there is a lot less talking and more of the action scenes, which are good and all but... I read the comic first and formost for the story...

I thought it was the smaller size (which I could be imagining, but it does seem smaller and is buggin' me), but maybe it is the change in line colors - I hadnt noticed that before.

I thought I noticed something a bit off, like the images seemed to pop more but I couldn't put my finger on it.
And I agree with Angel, colored lines are great but since YOU had to point them out it's no big deal. ;-)

Not black image borders... I'm assuming it's that the character outlines are no longer coloured to match the flesh / clothes / hair etc. While I do like coloured outlines more, I have to say I didn't actually notice until you pointed it out, so I guess I must say that it's fine :)

I am assuming that you are referring to the black image borders?
Holy crap, I'm with Haylee...
