I can tell you my experience in donating books to the libraries in Canada. Most libraries do not accept Buddhism books.Either they purchase their own or the Collection Development Librarians are Christian/ Catholic. They are not willing to accept any Buddhist books. I suggest Grand Master Lu's earlier books in mystical experience & spiritual response be translated or republished again. Just like the Chinese book #33 now being re published . Inside this books, nothing mentioned about the name of Buddha, which may be easier for the library to accept. They can put the book into Science section.[One library in Toronto did that] Once the author Sheng-Yen Lu is catalogued in their library, the other books followed will be accepted more easily by the libraries. Each library has its Collection Development Librarians to read/ review the books. It happened here a librarian found out her library has books by Sheng-Yen Lu , she accepted my 2nd donation within one day, [ originally she told me in a week , she would give me an answer].
The other point I want to mention is that the libraries will review your books only if they are currently published.
so the date of publish is very important. Each new book released should be forworded to the libraries for consideration as soon as possible.
The Library of Congress control no. is also important as it indicates the credibility of the author.
The prestigious awards/ certificates together with each book description should be sent to the libraries for their consideration as an addition to their collection. The Awards will definitely help. [Anyone wishes to see the awards, I can share with them]
