Have you ever seriously thought of adoption?

My wife and I have adopted three kids in the course of being foster parents through Catholic Charities. I'd like to point out that adoption does not have to be complicated or expensive. Sure if you're looking to get a pristine white baby straight from the womb with all the "proper papers," then you're talking private agency and tens of thousands of dollars. If you are color blind and open to helping the children who are starting with a few deficits (I jokingly call this the "scratch and dent" set), then there are hundreds of choices right near you who are free or very cheap to adopt. Some with more special needs actually come with a subsidy. Our three have special needs and are from three different races. Our family looks funny, but I'm proud of what God has been able to do with us. Please think about being open to the kids who need "forever families" right in your back yard!
