Well I've left messages in a few places after I heard David sing on AI.I must admit I haven't liked the direction that AI has been heading. I don't quite know why but I had decided that this was my last year to watch. Maybe it's because Simon is leaving, that (childlike} Paula has left or that Randy seems lost this season or sad or something. Maybe a lot of people are feeling that too. Anyway Simon Fuller is a genious! Placing David in between the 2 high theatrics of the first performer and Rihanna was why he is a master of shows like this. Archuleta struck chords in the hearts of America 2 years ago, and with this performance sent our hearts soaring once again. It seems AI has yet to revisit what we all loved about music. David is unique in every way. Not unlike the music of Josh Groban or IL Divo, he moves people with is velvet voice and his humility and innocense. That is something we here in America are desperate for. My advice to the contestants is this...listen to Simon. He is not right all of the time (like when he said David Archuleta's 'Think of Me' was forgettable...it wan't) and the fact he didn't study music etc., but he knows what works..and he knows when the audience is swept up by a performance. And underneath that brash exterieor is a slobbering sentimental. I thank AI for giving us David Archuleta. Honestly he should be mentoring the contestants this week not Adam Lambert...David's soul pours through every song he sings. Even 3 out of 4 adult children are commenting on his talent. Last year they made fun of me. Jive records....don't blow it.

There are so many songs I've heard David sing that have brought me to tears..."When You Say You Love Me" was probably the first & not just once. However, when I heard the "snippet" that was shared with us from "Christmas From the Heart", Ave Maria went straight to my soul! I don't think I've ever been as touched as I have been by that song..and seeing him sing it live in Baltimore last year was pure heaven. David's vocals just soar and transport me to another place...a place I don't want to leave. How he does this, I'll never understand but I am forever grateful to be his fan & look forward to spending hours of contentment in "that place". Thank you, David!
