Drop Saturday Mail Delivery?

When other retail businesses are losing money, they have a sale to move merchandise. When the P.O. is losing money, they raise their prices?? That is even more incentive for people to avoid snail mail. Plus the fact that the postmaster general is making such an exorbitant amount of money is obscene! They are digging themselves into a hole.

Give you a perfect example of the PO. We had a problem at work. Called them 2 and they said someone would be back to me in 2 days, even gave me a case number. It has been well over 3 weeks and still no call from them. Then we had our mail person tell us that if they don't have mail for us, they won't come in. Ah, we have metered mail and we need someone to come into our office and pick it up.

I will bet my bottom dollar that they will not deliver mail on Saturday and they will still say we need a price increase in stamps.

Just stop the delivery on Saturday. Maybe one day they can re-evaulate and start delivery again. Who knows?

Maybe if the postal service were to hire FRIENDLY helpful people they would not be in this mess! I stopped using USPS a long time ago---there is always a long line, 1 person working and the customer service is terrible. Yes there are some very friendly ones out there but there are many many more rude employees. I had one tell me one time that the only way she could be fired is if she stole something---other than that she would always have her job---I sure would like to see how she feels now??

I am a mail carrier and I see the amount of people that come to their mailbox every day to see if they have a card or letter from a loved one who lives in another city, town and country. Children wait to get cards from their grandparents. It isn't just about netflix, it is about people who need and rely on the mail,, everyday!

If the PO is loosing money, then this is a perfect way to adjust cost. People will adjust to no mail on Saturday and I'm sure NetFlix will figure something out for their movies--maybe you'll get them on Friday instead! Now there's a novel thought. Medicine will be delivered on Friday or the following Monday and I'm people won't be completely out of their meds--if they're calling it that close, they need to order it sooner!
