I would rather die than vote Conservative. Vote for Change, yeah right! The very definition of Conservative is to NOT change things... but hey, whatever. I used to be for Labour, but Mr. Brown has had his run and he did mistakes, which we all do. This time it is the Lib Dems, they are one of the oldest parties after all! But I still cannot vote, maybe in a years time when my voice can finally be heard. What is the point in Democracey when some are still not able to vote? I mean even kids have some really good points and ideas. Hell, my 6 year old sister could run this country fine!

I really hope, the Conservatives do not win... David Cameron looks like Hitler if you draw a moustache on his upper lip :)

i think because many isses affect young people under 18 that they should have the right to vote as well.

I am leaving school this year and feel that there are lots more options for me than there would have been under any other government. Thank you Mr Gordon Brown for keeping the tax credits and the fund which I look forward to when I need some money that is saved up for me. I think the money we saved from a decrease in VAT for a short period helped lots of people and especially us young people. So what if the deficit has increased money can be easily paid back to reduce the deficit again. Good that Mr Brown was a previous chancellor otherwise who would have had the ecomonics background to be able to forecast this. Bankers are greedy and should be taxed heavily to pay us (deficit) back, because we have bailed them out of the crisis of their own making.

How are Labour even still in with a sniff??? How has this happened?! Has a severe bout of collective amnesia swept the nation?! What's wrong with you? Wake up people! Continued faith in the Labour party is completely unjustified and utterly foolhardy. If they get in again, it will be an complete embarrasment for this country and more worryingly, will throw into question the intelligence of the population.

    I am voting Pirate Party!

I actually think that the Conservatives should be 1st or at least 2nd becuase Gordon Brown has made so many promises that he knows he cant do, Nick Clegg is a good speaker but he has the worst ideas to run the country.

I support the Scottish National Party (SNP) because they are the party that will stand up for Scottish interests. They are a non-racist alternative to Labour, Tories and Lib-Dem. The London Parties, especially Labour and the Tories offer no change. Labour Tory, Tory Labour tweedledum tweedledee there both just the same with the same agenda. That is why people need to vote differently in this election. That's why I recommend the SNP.

copy and pasting is not the equivalent of political campaigning. just lazy and cheaper. do you actually believe what you read on the comment boards?

btw, the poll doesn't show age or number of votes cast, or even if they are from the UK. = Irrelevant

I am currently stuck between whether I vote Labour or Liberal Democrat. All I know is I will not be voting Conservative.

Why not? Well I firstly disagree with the scrapping of Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA). If I did not get EMA, then I would have had no choice but to go out to work. And where are the jobs? There are none. So I would have probably joined the NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training).

Another reason why I won't vote Tory is they do not have realistic ideas of how to fund their economic policies. It is all very well them saying "no jobs tax", but where will they find the money to support the Police, NHS and Schools? At least Labour can account for £6bn. Do I agree with the jobs tax? Probably not, but I see no other alternatives.

The Conservatives' idea on a National Voluntary Service scheme does look like a good idea, but it is in danger of being made compulsory, which would turn young people off. I do a lot of volunteering already, through my own motivation, and I feel rewarded. If the Conservatives then made the voluntary scheme compulsory, it would turn young people off of volunteering all together. It is a good idea, however, they should focus the money on supporting all ready existing schemes, such as the UK Youth Parliament, and other youth groups like the Scouts and Cadets. These are just a few examples, there are loads who could benefit from the money. Our Conservative County Council have almost decimated the funding for the Connexions Service, particularly youth involvement. So why should we trust a Tory government?

I know people say not to judge the new Conservatives from those in the 1980s. However, they have historically widened the gap between rich and poor. I will be wanting to see a more positive record from the Conservatives before I consider voting for them.

Of course, not all Conservatives are bad. We have a few good Conservative District Councillors, who genuinely care about making a difference. They are very nice people, and do represent the community. So as you can see, I am a very confused first-time voter. I can see why many don't bother to vote. I disagree with this, they should vote. However I do empathise with them how difficult it is.

HowNow anyone can look at the country today, the mess we're in, and say "yes, I will choose to re-elect the same government" baffles me. they've had 13 years, and it's time for a change. What shape that would be is debatable; but one thing is certain: it needs to happen now, not in another 5 years time, and it simply cannot happen effectively under the incompetent, bumbling fool that is Gordon Brown, and his broken government trapped in the 90's.

  • Joe Millward - 2 years ago

I'm voting Conservative! Why? The conservatives are a party of change. They have a clear direction, a charismatic cabinet and offer real change to the electorate after 13 years of Labour mismanagement. Labour have doubled the national debt, let thousands of convicted prisoners out early and created a culture of segregation where people are categorised by class and ethnicity rather than being treated as individuals. EMA will continue under the conservatives but will under go scrutiny, to ensure the money is directed to those that really need it. It's a form of welfare not a money giveaway. The Conservatives have two main paths to follow; to fix the crippled econmy by reducing the burden of debt on the public sector and encouraging investment from the private sector. The second path is to fix our broken society. We live in a society which is controlled by the state. We need social responsibiltiy. Individuals and communities know what's best for them, not whiteall. Power to communities. Vote for Change. Vote Conservative.

As an myp for sheffield, personally i dont have a favourite party or a bad party. I believe that labour has done well with the NHS and other things, conservatives are good and they might do well running the country and they have good ideas, liberal democrats are good and are doing good at the moment, they are doing good in sheffield but i dont know if they will be as good as they are in sheffield. Also there are other parties who have got good ideas and might be able to change the UK for the better. I hope who ever wins the election, does a good job on running the UK and change it for the better. So vote wisely!!!!!

Had it not been for the Educationl Maintaince Allowance (EMA) I would not have been able to go to college and at the prestious university I am at today. Something the Conservative Party would scrap. On that alone, I owe my vote and my future educational opportunities to the Labour Party.

  • Daniel - 2 years ago

Labour have ruined this once great nation, they acted too little too late and didn't put any money aside during the good times. We were one of the last countries to come out of the recession and that is because we were not prepared! lib Dems' told the government that the recession would happen but they didn't listen and now we have to deal with the consequences. People forget how we got in this economic mess in the first place and the whole reason is Gordon Brown who spit the banking regulatory bodies up which meant that communication between banks broke down and then Gordon Brown himself didn't have a clue on what the banks were doing!!!

This unelected PM has been eroding our nation from the inside for many many years and now I think it is time for change!!!
